On March 6, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that the unit had just held a meeting to celebrate the 116th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2026) and the 1986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising. The meeting was attended by nearly 150 female trade union officials, union members and workers in the area.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Pham Van Dang recalled the historical tradition of International Women's Day March 8th and the Hai Ba Trung uprising. According to Mr. Pham Van Dang, in An Giang province, many generations of women have made important contributions to the cause of national liberation as well as in the cause of building and developing their homeland.
In the current period, the team of female officials, union members and workers in the province continues to promote the good traditions of Vietnamese women, actively participate in emulation movements for good labor and creative labor, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Currently, female union members account for more than 57% of the total number of union members in the province. Every year, over 96% of female officials and union members achieve the emulation title "Good at state affairs, good at housework", and many typical individuals are commended and rewarded by levels and sectors.
In addition, trade union levels in the province also actively implement many activities to care for the material and spiritual life of female union members and workers through programs such as Tet Sum vay, Workers' Month, activities to celebrate International Women's Day March 8 and Vietnamese Women's Day October 20. Many cases of female union members in difficult circumstances and suffering from dangerous diseases have been promptly supported and visited by trade union levels, contributing to helping workers stabilize their lives.

The highlight of this year's gathering is the content emphasizing the role of women in the digital transformation era - a trend that is strongly impacting all areas of social life.
Within the framework of the program, delegates listened to the topic "The Role of Women in the Digital Transformation Period" presented by Mr. Huynh Minh Tri - Deputy Head of the Faculty in charge of Information and Communications, Kien Giang University. Through the topic, delegates gained more useful information and knowledge about the development trends of digital technology as well as the opportunities and challenges for female workers in the new era.
On this occasion, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation presented flowers and gifts to congratulate female trade union officials and female delegates attending the meeting, contributing to encouraging the spirit and recognizing the contributions of women to the workers', civil servants' and laborers' movements in the province.
