Da Nang Trade Union contests green initiatives to improve production quality

Da Nang - The city's Trade Union organizes a contest of ideas, initiatives, and solutions to improve techniques in production and environmental improvement "Green - Clean - Beautiful" in 2026.

Creating a "playground" for innovation from the grassroots level

Da Nang City Labor Federation has just issued a plan to organize the "Green - Clean - Beautiful" Contest of ideas, initiatives, and technical improvement solutions in production and environmental improvement in 2026, with the theme "Da Nang Workers: Innovation, creativity, improving labor productivity".

A noteworthy point of this contest is the direct approach to the production force - the workforce at enterprises.

The contest contents range from saving raw materials and energy; improving machinery and working processes; to reducing emissions, treating waste and building a friendly working environment. These are all issues close to daily production life, where every small initiative can create big changes.

The form of participation is flexible, from individual to group, up to 5 people, helping to expand participation opportunities. In particular, requiring each grassroots trade union to register at least one idea shows the determination to spread the movement to each unit, instead of stopping at some individual bright spots.

The contest also sets out clear evaluation criteria with applicability accounting for 40%, along with creativity, presentation and criticism. This shows a very specific direction, ideas must go into practice, not just stop at theory.

From emulation movements to actual productivity

Exchanging about the meaning of the contest, Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation said: organizing creative playgrounds for workers is a practical way to unleash internal strength from businesses and workers themselves.

According to Mr. Dai, in the context of increasing competition, improving labor productivity cannot only rely on investment in machinery or technology, but requires improvements from the people directly working. "Each worker can be a'on-the-spot engineer', if encouraged and facilitated," Mr. Dai emphasized.

Reality shows that many businesses in Da Nang have had initiatives originating from workers to help save costs, shorten production time, and improve the working environment. However, these initiatives are often confined to the "campus" of businesses, lacking a mechanism for recognition and widespread dissemination.

This contest therefore plays a role as a platform, helping to systematize ideas, creating opportunities for initiatives to be presented, refuted and completed. The organization of the online preliminary round and direct final round also shows the combination of flexibility and professionalism in the way of doing things.

Another highlight of this year's contest is the "green" element, which is concretized by areas of encouraged participation such as emission reduction, waste reuse, and working environment improvement.

In the context of increasingly strict environmental standards, especially for export businesses, linking production initiatives with "green" elements is an inevitable direction.

When workers participate in the process of improving the working environment, they not only contribute to minimizing negative impacts on the environment, but also directly improve their own quality of life.

From small improvements such as rearranging production space, reducing noise, taking advantage of natural light, to larger solutions such as recycling raw materials or waste treatment..., all can start from very specific, very close ideas.

The "Green - Clean - Beautiful" contest also shows a shift in the thinking of trade union organizations and businesses, when shifting from pure production to sustainable production.

The "Green - Clean - Beautiful" 2026 competition for ideas, initiatives, and technical improvement solutions in production and environmental improvement, in addition to helping to discover valuable initiatives, also contributes to forming a new generation of workers who are proactive, creative and ready to adapt to the increasing requirements of modern production.
