The transfer of grassroots trade unions to the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union is not only a full-organization event, but also helps grassroots trade unions to be more closely linked to the socio-economic development, national defense - security and political tasks of the special zone.
According to Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone, Chairman of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union Le Hoang Nam said that the transfer of 111 grassroots trade unions under the Provincial Federation of Labor to the Trade Union of the special zone for management is an important event, marking a new step in the development of the work of building the Trade Union organization in the area. This decision is an important legal basis for the grassroots trade unions to officially start operating under the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union from August 27, 2025.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Do Tran Thinh said that, implementing the key work program of the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee and implementing the targets of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in 2025, the Standing Committee will develop a Plan to survey, propagate and develop union members to establish grassroots unions in Phu Quoc special zone.

Previously, on September 18, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to announce the decision to transfer 111 grassroots unions with 10,959 union members under the Provincial Federation of Labor to the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union for management.
