On September 18, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) held a conference to announce the decision to transfer 111 grassroots unions with 10,959 union members under the Provincial Federation of Labor to the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union for management.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Phu Quoc Special Zone, Chairman of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union Le Hoang Nam said that this decision is an important legal basis for grassroots trade unions to officially participate in activities and under the Phu Quoc Special Zone Trade Union from August 27, 2025. The transfer is not only an event for the whole organization, but also helps grassroots trade unions to be more closely linked to the socio-economic development, national defense - security and political tasks of the special zone.
At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Nhat Tien deployed a number of key contents of Trade Union activities in the province since the merger and consolidation of the two provinces of An Giang and Kien Giang and oriented the transfer of grassroots trade unions to a number of wards, communes and special zones for monitoring and management.
Immediately afterwards, the Provincial Federation of Labor organized a training course on trade union work, implementing important contents on organization, personnel, union fees and trade union activities after the arrangement and merger. Thereby helping to improve the effectiveness of Trade Union activities in the new situation.
