On September 26, the People's Council of An Giang province, term X, 2021-2026, held its 3rd session (special session). The Provincial People's Council has approved 14 draft resolutions on adjusting public investment plans, organizing the apparatus and staffing, mechanisms and policies on finance - society, national defense, etc.
Specifically, through the draft resolution on the Decision on policy of converting forest use to other purposes to implement the An Thoi Domestic solid waste treatment plant project.
According to the Proposal of the Provincial People's Committee on applying for the policy of converting forest use to other purposes for forest areas approved by the Prime Minister to be removed from the forest planning to implement the An Thoi domestic solid waste treatment plant project.
The project is invested by Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board, with a total project implementation area of 4.22 hectares in Suoi Lon quarter, Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province.
The proposal to change the purpose of forest use to another purpose to implement the An Thoi domestic solid waste treatment plant project meets the criteria for determining the project to change the purpose of natural forest use to another purpose; is consistent and meets the principles and basis for changing the purpose of forest use to another purpose and has full documents according to current legal regulations.
According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, the construction of the An Thoi domestic solid waste treatment plant to treat domestic waste arising every day in Phu Quoc special zone. Thereby, contributing to reducing waste, saving resources, protecting the environment and human health for the goal of sustainable development. Promote the application of advanced science and technology in the country and the world to treat waste and protect the environment.
Build a domestic waste treatment plant with power generation using advanced synchronous technology to fully comply with environmental protection regulations according to environmental standards/regulations, in order to treat domestic solid waste in Phu Quoc special zone. Solving jobs for local workers while helping local management agencies have orientations and developments in waste management, raising people's awareness of environmental protection.
