Welfare fulcrum
On December 5, the Da Nang University Trade Union held the 7th Congress, term 2025-2030. The union currently has 2,652 union members operating at 9 grassroots unions. This is a large intellectual force with 155 professors and associate professors; 727 PhDs; more than 1,000 masters - both a resource that determines training quality and a subject that trade unions must care for and protect.
In the context of economic difficulties and a lot of pressure on the education budget, the Da Nang University Trade Union still maintains its role as a " supported" for union members. Salary, allowance and insurance regimes are fully supervised; recommendations related to regimes and policies are conveyed and resolved promptly, without causing complaints or lawsuits. The trade union participates in many important councils such as: salary increase, emulation - reward, recruitment, staff streamlining, appointment... thereby realizing the function of representation, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the team.
Welfare work has been implemented systematically. Every year, thousands of civil servants, employees, and retirees are given gifts during Tet; hundreds of cases of serious illnesses and difficult circumstances are supported during Workers' Month and Tet Sum Vay. Many units organize tours, vacations, periodic health check-ups, buy personal insurance, support learning to improve qualifications... to help civil servants and employees feel secure in their work and stick with the unit.
In terms of expertise, emulation movements are increasingly close to the requirement of university education innovation. The "Exemplary, dedicated and creative teacher" movement is concretized by lectures on teaching, forums on artificial intelligence in teaching, the "Teachers, teachers in your eyes" contest, the "Exemplary teacher" section... Thereby, honoring teachers, encouraging innovation in teaching methods, promoting scientific research and technology transfer.
Thanks to those efforts, the Da Nang University Trade Union is the only unit in the national university and regional university trade union to be awarded the Emulation Flag "Excellent Unit" by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities.
Accompanying educational breakthroughs
The 2025-2030 term opens in the context of many breakthroughs in the education, science and technology and trade union policy system: Resolution 71 on education - training, Resolution 57 on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, Resolution 02 on innovation of the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union... The University of Da Nang Trade Union is also positioned as one of the top four universities, towards the model of a National University - a model university in the country.
On that basis, the Da Nang University Trade Union determined the goal of the new term to innovate the content and methods of operation; enhance the role of representation and care; actively participate in university governance innovation and digital transformation; build a team of civil servants and workers with strong political qualities, professional qualifications, digital capacity; extensively organize patriotic emulation movements, social activities, create a united, democratic, and creative environment.
Notably, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor identified two breakthroughs. First, promote innovation, digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence in trade union activities: diversify digital propaganda forms, survey online union member needs, build a digital database on union members, modernize financial management, emulation - reward, training.
Second, accompany the construction of a team of modern civil servants and workers, associated with the strategy of developing Hanoi into a National University: organize the "Innovative - Creative - Integrated - student" Festival, start-up competitions with research, creative lecturer clubs, forums connecting businesses with lecturers.
In the new term, if the goals and breakthroughs are well realized, the Da Nang University Trade Union will continue to be a reliable support for civil servants and workers. At the same time, it has become one of the important driving forces to soon make Da Nang University achieve the goal of becoming a National University - contributing to raising the level of Vietnamese higher education in the digital transformation era.
