On January 10, the Dak Lak Provincial Federation of Labor held the 4th Executive Committee meeting for the 2023-2028 term to review union activities in 2024 and set out key tasks and directions for 2025.
Reporting at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly - Permanent Vice President of Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation informed that in 2024, trade unions at all levels proactively organized visits, encouragement and gifts for 35,870 union members in difficult circumstances who suffered from serious illnesses or work-related accidents. The total cost was nearly 16 billion VND.
During the year, the provincial trade unions at all levels successfully implemented the "Trade Union Shelter" program, providing funding to build and repair 127 houses for union members. The total support budget was over VND5.67 billion.
The number of "Union Shelters" deployed in 2024 reached 123% of the target set by the Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee.
Mr. Le Van Thanh - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial Labor Federation - emphasized: "In the coming time, the Provincial Labor Federation will continue to quickly implement the merger, streamline the apparatus, and arrange new jobs for a number of union officials. Provincial unions at all levels will still focus on implementing activities to care for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year 2025".
During the upcoming Lunar New Year, the entire Dak Lak province will have 13,541 union members and workers cared for and supported with a total budget of about 6.7 billion VND.
In 2024, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, trade unions at all levels in the province admitted 6,705 new members. Of which, the number of union members increased by 3,287 (reaching 67% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor). The province also established 93 grassroots trade unions, including 10 grassroots trade unions of enterprises with 25 or more workers, reaching 111.1% of the assigned target.
