To date, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (VTC) has 9 trade unions at the grassroots level; 240 grassroots trade unions (CDCS) including 25 affiliated trade unions with a total of 98,750 union members/98,887 workers.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has provided subsidies to visit 1,100 employees in especially difficult circumstances with an amount of VND 2.015 billion, approved support to build 55 new Trade Union Shelters with an amount of VND 3.3 billion, and approved the repair of 10 houses with an amount of VND 300 million.
The care for employees and social security work during the Lunar New Year 2025 were visited, encouraged and subsidized by trade unions at all levels to 51,034 employees with an amount of VND61.2 billion. Trade unions at all levels visited local social charity activities during the 2025 Lunar New Year with an amount of 8.5 billion VND.
During Workers' Month and Workers' Month for occupational safety and health in 2025, the whole industry had over 1,530 gifts presented to workers in difficulty, serious illness, and work-related accidents with a total amount of VND 4.2 billion; visited over 200 collectives in remote, isolated, border, and island areas, and visited newly separated units on key projects with a total amount of VND 6.9 billion. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized delegations to visit and encourage Workers' Month activities at 32 grassroots units and visit workers in especially difficult circumstances with an amount of 2.3 billion VND.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union - said that in the coming time, trade unions at all levels in the industry will continue to focus on performing well the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. Organize periodic dialogues and negotiate collective labor agreements for the period 2024 - 2027 at the Group level. Coordinate with the professional sector to focus on and strengthen occupational safety and health, strengthen inspection and supervision of occupational safety and health at the site to promote the emulation movement to build a safe working environment and ensure the health of civil servants and employees, resolutely pushing back and minimizing the number of occupational accidents.
Strengthen training, improve operational skills, improve the quality of trade union staff; Timely implement the policies of EVN Group and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the process of innovation and streamlining the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and efficient.
