Implementing the program "Joining hands for a green - clean - beautiful city", from January 15 to January 20, Quang Yen Ward Trade Union coordinated with sponsors and grassroots trade unions to carry out many meaningful activities such as awarding a support fund of 30 million VND to build drowning barriers in Lien Hoa 1 area, Lien Hoa ward.
The project has a total length of 220m, a height of 1.3m, and a rust-resistant painted iron structure, ensuring safety and urban aesthetics. Along with that, 20 green trash cans with a capacity of 120 liters were also donated to residential areas in Lien Hoa ward, contributing to raising awareness of environmental sanitation in residential areas.
Notably, the Quang Yen Ward Trade Union has coordinated with Amata Ha Long Urban Joint Stock Company to organize a program to donate trash cans and flower trees in response to the program "Joining hands for a green - clean - beautiful city" in 3 wards, with a total value of nearly 260 million VND.
Specifically, in Quang Yen ward, the program donated 70 vacuum cleaner trash cans with a capacity of 120 liters and 60 maple trees with trunk diameters from 8-10cm, over 3m high. Hiep Hoa ward was awarded 70 trash cans and 160 chayote trees over 1.8m high. Dong Mai ward was awarded 50 trash cans of the same type.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan - General Director of Amata Ha Long Urban Joint Stock Company - said that the company will continue to accompany Quang Yen Ward Trade Union in community activities, and at the same time connect the ward trade union with businesses operating in Song Khoai Industrial Park to implement programs to care for the material and spiritual life of workers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga - Chairwoman of Quang Yen Ward Trade Union - affirmed that the program "Joining hands for a green - clean - beautiful city" is only the beginning. In the coming time, the ward trade union will continue to mobilize and call on businesses to participate, and at the same time, based on the actual needs of each area to implement specific projects and tasks, close to people's lives. To date, more than 10 businesses have responded and accompanied the program.
Across the province, the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation has just issued a plan to launch a thematic emulation movement "Pioneering enterprises, sustainable green development", contributing to the successful implementation of the goal of striving to make Quang Ninh province a centrally-run city before 2030.
The emulation movement focuses on improving the quality of production and business associated with environmental protection; renovating and embellishing business infrastructure; planting trees, building green - clean - beautiful landscapes; effectively implementing labor safety and hygiene; saving resources, reducing emissions, sorting and treating waste in accordance with regulations.
Request 100% of grassroots trade unions to develop implementation plans suitable to the actual conditions of the unit, linking emulation movements with major campaigns being implemented in the area.
Through specific and practical activities from grassroots to the whole province, the role of trade union organizations in connecting businesses, workers and the community continues to be affirmed, contributing to creating social consensus.
