New development of 47,992 union members
In 2024, the city's Trade Union at all levels developed 179 new grassroots trade unions, reaching 179% of the annual plan; developed 47,992 new union members, reaching 104% of the annual plan and 137% of the plan assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, finishing 2 months ahead of schedule. Hai Phong also consecutively established 8 grassroots trade unions with more than 600 union members, reaching 103% of the plan - leading the country in implementing this work.
On the occasion of the 2024 Lunar New Year, more than 300,000 union members and workers benefited from Tet care activities of the city's trade unions at all levels with a total budget of more than 122 billion VND. More than 300,000 union members and workers benefited from care activities during the 2024 Workers' Month. During the year, 88 union shelters were repaired and newly built; more than 2,000 workers in difficult circumstances received support with a total budget of nearly 8.5 billion VND.
With thousands of topics, solutions, and initiatives recognized and applied each year, Hai Phong is one of the leading localities in the country in the number of Creative Labor Certificates. 86 individuals were awarded the Creative Labor Certificate in 2023 by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 200 individuals were awarded the Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Excellent Workers in 2023 by the City People's Committee and the City Labor Federation, which are typical examples in the emulation movement for excellent and creative workers.

In 2025, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposed that the Hai Phong City Labor Federation continue to focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, and striving to have a union organization wherever there are workers.
