Meeting the expectations of workers
GPN Automotive Company Limited is a 100% Chinese-invested enterprise, located in the duty-free zone and Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, operating since June 2025.
With the guidance of the City Labor Federation Industrial Park Trade Union Board, on July 10, 2025, just one month after the company came into operation, the Mobilization Committee established the company's trade union. From July 10-15, the Mobilization Committee organized a propaganda campaign to help workers clearly understand the rights and duties of union members as well as the role of the Trade Union organization. Thereby, 100% of employees (78 people) at that time had applied to join the Trade Union organization. Last August, the company's trade union was officially established in the joy of union members and employees.
Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Tam (born in 1992), a company employee, said: "The companies I worked for before all have a Trade Union organization and employees are very well taken care of, so when the newly established GPN Company was established, the wish of employees was to establish a Trade Union organization, not only to ensure their rights but also as a spiritual support for employees to work with peace of mind. We hope that the grassroots trade union will operate effectively, always listening, sharing, and proposing to improve the welfare of employees.
Recently, on September 4, the ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Trade Union of Global material Handling Company Limited (DepC 2A Industrial Park) took place amid the excitement of not only 348 union members but also the company's board of directors.
According to the union representative, since the company came into operation, the collective of employees had a desire to have a union organization to represent and protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests. The board of directors also considers the union as a trusted partner for dialogue, listening, and building harmonious and stable labor relations, so they also want to establish a grassroots trade union to jointly realize the company's strategic vision. To date, the company has developed 142 more employees compared to the time of propaganda and development of union members.
Striving to complete the 2025 union member development target
It is known that after the merger, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation has a total of 2,967 grassroots unions with 621,365 employees and 595,458 union members in 114 communes, wards, special zones and industrial parks. Immediately after the merger, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation started implementing professional activities, focusing on targets and tasks for the last months of 2025. The focus is on developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions. As of July 1 (the time of merger) to August 29, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation established 27 grassroots unions, developing 2,073 new union members. In addition to the number of union members from newly established grassroots unions, the city's trade unions at all levels also regularly review and develop the new labor force in units that already have trade union organizations.
The City Labor Federation has worked with businesses that are using labor leasing services to grasp the employment situation and share with businesses about difficulties in recruiting workers. Along with that, grasp the fact that a part of employees in labor leasing service providers have not joined the Trade Union organization to develop a plan for propaganda, mobilization, and strive to cover grassroots trade unions in qualified enterprises.
