experiencing the Trade Union Meal for the first time
One of the activities that has been and is being welcomed by employees is the "Union Meal" program. The Union Meal is an activity organized by the Trade Unions at all levels in coordination with heads of units and employers to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (19.8), National Day (2.9) and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (28.7).
The program will be implemented nationwide from July 20 to September 2. Thereby demonstrating the mark and role of the Trade Union organization through dialogue and negotiation with employers and implementing the Conclusion of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on improving the quality of shift meals for employees.
In Hanoi, in the program, union officials and employees reviewed the 50-year history of the nation. Thereby, to make employees more proud and also feel their responsibility towards the enterprise, the community and the country.
At the Meiko Vietnam Co., Ltd.'s Union Meal, Ms. Le Thi Hao - a worker who has been with the company for 7 years - shared: "I am very touched when reviewing the country's past 80 years history. I understand that many people have sacrificed their lives to have today, so my colleagues and I will have to try to live well, work well...".
This is the first time Ms. Hao has experienced a Union Meal organized by the company's union in coordination with the Board of Directors. According to her, the nutritious food is much better than regular shift meals. She chose stir-fried ribs, fried shrimp, stir-fried vegetables, and after eating, there was still leftover rice because the food was too high quality.
Sharing the same thought with Ms. Hao, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, who has worked at the company for 5 years, expressed her hope that the Trade Union and the company's leaders will continue to pay attention and organize many practical activities to create more motivation for workers to stay long-term.
Strengthening political and ideological propaganda
In August 2025, the Hanoi City Labor Federation will carry out many meaningful activities to propagate and educate union members and workers. Propaganda and education are innovated, based on the needs of workers. In particular, the City Labor Federation promotes the dissemination of historical significance; organizes art programs to serve workers; continues to promote the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term... All activities aim to promote propaganda on political and ideological education and foster patriotism among union members and workers.
In addition, the City Labor Federation strengthens coordination in inspection and supervision of the implementation of labor laws, Trade Union Laws, and Social Insurance Laws at enterprises, in order to detect early, recommend competent authorities to handle violations, promptly resolve problems, and contribute to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
According to the Hanoi City Labor Federation, the Projects on the arrangement of the apparatus and staff will be implemented immediately after being approved. The City Trade Union also continues to review, streamline, reduce internal focal points, streamline staff, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the apparatus and the quality of the Trade Union staff according to the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Hanoi Party Committee, especially to perfect, consolidate, and improve the quality and efficiency of grassroots trade unions.
