The conference will take place on February 21 - 22, expected to discuss and give opinions on draft and submissions: Plan to organize Workers' Month 2025 in conjunction with the celebration of the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; Report on the results of caring for union members and workers before and after the Lunar New Year 2025; Program to implement the Resolution of the Executive Committee of the 13th General Confederation of Labor on "Focusing resources to care for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation" for the period 2024 - 2028; Project "building a cultural movement of labor safety at the workplace";
Regarding the reception, revision and promulgation of the Charter of Vietnam Trade Unions and Guidelines for the implementation of the Charter of Vietnam Trade Unions; Regulations on the organization and operation of grassroots trade unions; Amendments and supplements to the Working Regulations of the 13th Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor; Draft notice on the assignment of the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the President and members of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (term XIII), term 2023 - 2028 (replacing Notice No. 84/TB-TLD dated May 28, 2024); Submission on amending Decision No. 1587/QD-TLD dated November 11, 2020 of the Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor on promulgating the Regulations on unified management of foreign affairs activities of Vietnam Trade Unions.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized: 2025 is the year of many important activities and events for the country; the second year of implementing the Resolution of the Trade Union Congress at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the year the Trade Union Law takes effect, after reviewing and considering, the Standing Committee of the Presidium agreed to propose the theme of the Workers' Month 2025 as "Vietnamese Workers Pioneer in the New Era".
In order for Workers' Month to become more and more substantial and effective, creating a spreading effect and a festival for union members and workers, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested the members of the Presidium to give their opinions on the contents of the draft to complete and promulgate.
Regarding the Program to implement Resolution No. 07 of the 13th Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Labor on "Focusing resources to care for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation" for the period 2024 - 2028, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang analyzed: Resolution 07 sets the goal of "Building a policy system, focusing resources of the Trade Union organization to care for welfare in a synchronous, stable and long-term direction; mobilizing social resources, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, building a modern and strong working class. Create a close and sustainable connection between union members and workers and the Trade Union organization, attract a large number of workers to join the Vietnam Trade Union, and build a strong and comprehensive Vietnam Trade Union".
In the coming time, new requirements and challenges will be raised for the activities of the Vietnam Trade Union, along with the desire of union members and workers to stabilize jobs, salaries, income, safe working conditions, improved material and spiritual life.
At this 10th session, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested the members of the Presidium to study and give opinions on the main goals and targets, especially the solutions to organize implementation to better care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers...
