According to the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology, the implementation of the Project aims to raise awareness and responsibility of trade union officials, union members, workers and employers; gradually build a safe and healthy working environment, contributing to preventing work accidents, occupational diseases and improving working conditions.
The project builds a 7-step process to deploy specific models for pilot units to implement.
Contributing opinions to the project, representatives of grassroots trade unions exchanged views on the process of building a labor safety culture; and shared the current situation, difficulties and specific risks at units in the fields of telecommunications - technology, logistics - delivery, media - television. Opinions also focused on improving the efficiency of the safety and hygiene network, simplifying procedures, allocating resources and applying technology in the model implementation process.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tho - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness and practical opinions of the units; and emphasized that the implementation must go in depth, in accordance with the conditions and characteristics of each unit.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tho emphasized the implementation of the project according to 3 key contents.
First, give initiative to the grassroots level. Units are allowed to proactively select from 1-3 pilot models suitable to actual conditions, labor scale and occupational risk characteristics; avoid imposing rigid templates, ensuring models are feasible and suitable for each unit.
Second, accompanying with specific actions. The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology fully acknowledges the unit's recommendations on professional resources and implementation costs, and will soon issue professional guidelines and detailed plans. In which, support resources and responsibilities of each trade union level will be clearly defined; promote the role of promoting and orienting; affiliated trade unions are directly responsible for organizing implementation, ensuring substantive and effective implementation.
Third, promote the application of digital transformation. Encourage pilot units to pioneer in applying information technology, digitizing professional forms, thereby reducing paperwork, creating favorable conditions for grassroots trade union officials and improving the effectiveness of model implementation.
Through the pilot model, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology aims to build a labor safety culture that does not only stop at regulations and procedures but gradually becomes a regular habit, a daily standard of conduct for each union member and employee and is a part of corporate culture, contributing to building a safe working environment and proactively preventing risks right from the grassroots level.
