On July 1, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union (S&T) said that the delegation of the S&T Union led by Mr. Pham Quang Huong - Vice Chairman of the S&T Union had a bilateral visit and working trip to Korea under the cooperation agreement (MOU) between the S&T Union and the Korea Telecommunications Union (KTTU). This is an annual foreign affairs activity maintained by the two trade union organizations in rotation for many years, contributing to consolidating the traditional, effective and sustainable cooperative relationship between the two sides.
At the working sessions, the S&T Trade Union introduced to the Vietnamese side major policies on developing the country based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; and updated organizational changes, outstanding operating results for the period 2025-2026 and strategic development orientations for the period 2026-2030 of the S&T Trade Union.
The delegation also proposed 5 key cooperation contents in the coming time, in which it emphasizes maintaining the mechanism of visiting and exchanging bilateral delegations annually; strengthening coordination to support union members and workers of each country working in Vietnam and Korea; sharing experiences on training trade union officials, digital transformation, innovation in operating methods and protection of workers' legitimate rights and interests in the context of technological development.
KTTU highly appreciated Vietnam's strong transformations as well as the development orientation of the S&T Trade Union, affirming that the S&T Trade Union is one of the four most strategic, close and effective international partners of KTTU. KTTU said that after the KTTU Trade Union congress at the end of 2026, it will continue to promote the new leadership to maintain and develop cooperative relations with the S&T Trade Union, and at the same time promote a visit to Vietnam in 2027.
A highlight of the working trip is the visit and working session with the Daegu Regional Trade Union - the largest grassroots trade union of KTTU, where the core telecommunications equipment production complex of KT Group is located.
In addition to working activities, KTTU arranged for the delegation to visit KTTU's Training and Training Center, learn about modern trade union cadre training models; and visit a number of cultural, historical and development symbol works of Korea in Seoul and Gyeongju, thereby having more practical perspectives on the country's development process, building a knowledge economy and the "Han River miracle".
The visit concluded successfully, further affirming the friendly and trustworthy cooperative relationship between the S&T Trade Union and the Korea Telecommunications Union, creating an important foundation for the two sides to continue to accompany, share experiences and improve the effectiveness of trade union activities, for the benefit of union members and workers in the period of digital transformation and international integration.
