On July 4, Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) said that since the beginning of the year, the work of ensuring occupational safety and hygiene (OSH), health care for union members and workers (DV, NLD) and environmental protection has been actively implemented by the VTC unions at all levels with many practical activities, attracting a large number of union members and employees to participate.
Accordingly, implementing Instruction No. 41/HD-TLD dated February 24, 2025 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Instruction No. 55/HD-CDCT, guiding trade unions at all levels to implement the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in 2025; at the same time, implementing the plan to launch May as the month of AI in 2025. Synthesize reports to the General Confederation of Labor on difficulties and obstacles and propose amendments and supplements to legal policies on occupational safety and health.
Trade unions at all levels proactively coordinate with professional staff at the same level and functional agencies, organize activities in response to the 9th Labor Safety and Hygiene - Fire Prevention and Fighting Action Month in 2025.
Through activities to promote and create a clear change in awareness, perception as well as specific actions to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace. Respond to and implement many practical and effective activities while promoting the 2025 Roadmap for Action on occupational safety and Health in many forms and mass media, especially trade union press systems, electronic information pages, and information technology applications at all levels of trade unions.
On this occasion, trade unions at all levels strengthen coordination with employers to organize self-inspection and review of internal regulations and procedures for occupational safety and health in workshops, groups and teams according to regulations. Organize periodic health check-ups, occupational disease detection examinations and occupational disease examinations for employees.
In the first six months of 2025, the whole industry had 25 work accidents, of which 30 people were injured, there were no fatal work accidents. Trade unions at all levels have promptly visited, encouraged, and supported victims and their families who suffered from work-related accidents and occupational diseases in 11 units (89 cases of severe work-related accidents, 56 cases of mild work-related accidents and occupational diseases with a total amount of 234 million VND). The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor synthesizes and reports to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and guides units to synthesize and report cases of workers who have work-related accidents to consider support.

Trade unions at all levels have proactively advised professional leaders, depending on the actual conditions of each unit, to have solutions to ensure safety for workers at the workplace, ensure jobs and income for workers; continue to promote the movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensure occupational safety and hygiene", concretized into emulation movements suitable to the conditions of the unit, industry and enterprise, thereby promoting the participation of employers (NSDLD) and employees in ensuring occupational safety and hygiene.
Promote the development of quantity, while improving the quality and efficiency of the occupational safety and hygiene network in production facilities. Organize training on occupational safety and health knowledge and skills, and methods of operation for the occupational safety and hygiene network. In the first six months of the year, trade unions of the units have coordinated with the professional organizations to organize 5 training courses for more than 550 union members and people working on occupational safety and hygiene in enterprises on occupational safety and health and environmental protection knowledge.
Along with that, the trade union strengthens coordination with the Labor Union to organize inspection and review of labor safety regulations and processes in workshops, groups and teams according to regulations.
In the first six months of 2025, 120 inspections were conducted at 105 production and business establishments. Through the inspection, the units have basically implemented well the contents such as: regimes for employees, personal protective equipment, health insurance and hygiene books... according to the provisions of law and the law on occupational safety and health. Organize periodic health check-ups, occupational disease detection examinations and occupational disease examinations for employees.
