On July 19, Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union opened the Sports Tournament to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2026).
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Phan Huy Cuong - Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation and leaders of Nghia Lo ward.
The tournament attracted more than 200 athletes from 10 affiliated grassroots trade unions to compete in 4 sports including: pickleball, volleyball, 200m running and tug of war. The competition events took place in two days, July 19 and 20.

Ms. Vuong Thi Anh - Chairwoman of Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union shared that this is a practical activity to promote the movement of physical training and sports among union members and workers; creating a playground for exchange, strengthening the spirit of solidarity between grassroots trade unions, and at the same time contributing to creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the competition in the two volleyball and pickleball events. With the spirit of solidarity, honesty and nobility, many matches took place sôi nổi, hấp dẫn, attracting a large number of union members and people to cheer.


According to the plan, the remaining events will continue to be competed on July 20 before the Organizing Committee summarizes and awards prizes to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.
