On July 9, Bac Giang Ward Trade Union organized a conference to summarize trade union work in the first 6 months of the year, deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2026 and announce decisions to establish new grassroots trade unions.
Attending the conference were Mr. Thach Van Chung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Ngo Duc Trung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee.
Reports at the conference showed that in the first 6 months of 2026, ward trade union levels have synchronously implemented many solutions to care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers. The ward trade union has directed 100% of grassroots trade unions to coordinate in organizing employee conferences and dialogues at workplaces; actively guide negotiations and signing collective labor agreements, building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.
Activities to care for union members continue to be widely deployed with many practical programs such as Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party, Trade Union Tet Market, Trade Union Year-end Meal, Workers' Day, Workers' Month 2026...
Through this, the Ward Trade Union coordinated to present 675 gifts worth more than 760 million VND to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; grassroots trade unions additionally presented 1,233 gifts with a total value of over 1.18 billion VND.
In Workers' Month 2026 alone, more than 600 union members and workers participated in the Workers' Day; 200 workers were given free health check-ups; 35 grassroots trade unions organized the "Trade Union Meal" program for 9, 512 union members and workers, contributing to improving the quality of lunch meals and strengthening the connection between workers and businesses...
The work of building trade union organizations continues to achieve many positive results. As of the time before the conference, the Ward Trade Union had established 9 grassroots trade unions, admitted 581 union members, reaching 180% of the target of establishing grassroots trade unions according to the annual plan; introduced 85 outstanding union members for the Party to consider, of which 36 union members were admitted to the Party.
Right at the conference, the Provincial Labor Federation continued to announce the decision to establish 08 new grassroots trade unions, raising the total number of grassroots trade unions established from the beginning of the year to 12 units, with 672 union members admitted, continuing to affirm the effectiveness of union member development and building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Mr. Thach Van Chung acknowledged and praised the outstanding results of the Bac Giang Ward Trade Union in the first 6 months of the year; and at the same time requested trade union levels to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, promote digital transformation, and better care for the lives of union members and workers; focus on completing the targets of developing union members, building strong trade union organizations, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the locality.
