Ms. Lam Thi Vy - Chairwoman of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, Da Nang City said: the highlight of Workers' Month 2026 in Nam Phuoc commune is the synchronous participation of 20/20 grassroots trade unions with many diverse activities, closely following the actual needs of union members and workers.
Instead of organizing purely movement-oriented activities, many grassroots trade unions have chosen practical models, directly solving issues that workers are concerned about.
Typically at Phan Ngoc Anh Construction Materials Co., Ltd., the "Hire Cooling Summer" program was implemented right at the time of prolonged hot weather, helping workers have more safe and convenient working conditions. Along with that, the "Trade Union Pig" model continues to be maintained and promoted effectively in supporting union members in difficult circumstances, contributing to building the spirit of mutual affection right in the enterprise.
The unit also actively participates in the "Labor Safety Culture in the Workplace" model, making occupational safety and health work a part of corporate culture.
In the field of healthcare, grassroots trade unions also have many creative ways of doing things. The grassroots trade union of Tam Tri Quang Nam General Hospital organizes activities to show gratitude to the team of doctors, medical staff; and at the same time coordinates to implement the medical sponsorship program and the column "Doctors accompany union members and workers".
Meanwhile, the grassroots Trade Union of Duy Xuyen Regional Health Center associated care activities with the theme "Trade Union Welfare - Laborer Smiles", organized professional training and replicated the "Trade Union Pig" model to all trade union groups.
Spreading values from close models
According to Ms. Lam Thi Vy, the success point of this year's Workers' Month is that grassroots trade unions have proactively selected content suitable to the actual conditions of each unit, avoiding formality, focusing on the essential needs of union members and workers.
We determine that care must go hand in hand with companionship and create development opportunities for workers. Each grassroots trade union has its own characteristics, so suitable models are needed. When activities originate from practical needs, they will receive positive responses from union members," Ms. Vy said.
Along with direct care activities, communication work is also promoted. The online photo and video contest "Labor Beauty" II in 2026 has created a meaningful playground for grassroots trade unions to introduce good models and creative ways of doing things.
The theme "Trade Union Welfare - Laborers' Smiles" alone attracted 10 works from 10 grassroots trade unions to participate. Many activities were posted on the media platforms of the trade union organization and press agencies, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of union members and workers as well as the role of the trade union organization in social life.
Another notable point is the fact that Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union linked Workers' Month with organizational development and livelihood support for workers. The forum "Youth start-up, career establishment in the digital age - Connecting ideas, accompanying development" attracted nearly 200 union members, youth and young workers to participate.
Through the forum, many startup ideas were connected, many job opportunities and vocational training were introduced to workers. In parallel, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions achieved positive results with 944 new union members admitted and 3 grassroots trade unions established, completing 100% of the target for 2026.
From small but practical models at the grassroots level, Workers' Month 2026 in Nam Phuoc has created great efficiency. That success shows that when trade unions know how to listen to workers, choose the right content, meet the right needs and mobilize social resources well, trade union activities will not only stop at a peak month, but also create a foundation for caring for, representing and protecting workers sustainably for a long time.
