Performing well the representative function
According to news from the Trade Union of Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang city on June 25, the Trade Union of Hoi An Tay ward organized a conference to summarize trade union activities in the first 6 months of the year and deploy directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2026.
Attending the conference were Ms. Phan Thi Ha - Member of the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee; Ms. Le Thi Hong Thao - Member of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairwoman of Hoi An Tay Ward People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Phuong - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoi An Tay Ward.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Chairwoman of Hoi An Tay Ward Trade Union said that in the first 6 months of the year, closely following the direction of the City Labor Federation and the political tasks of the locality, Hoi An Tay Ward Trade Union focused on effectively implementing patriotic emulation movements, caring for the lives of union members and workers; and at the same time performing well the function of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members.
The work of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers continues to be concerned with many practical activities. Notably, the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" and the coordination of organizing "0-dong Fair" to support union members in difficult circumstances with a total budget of 67 million VND.
In Workers' Month 2026, trade union levels presented 94 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total budget of 47 million VND, contributing to encouraging and motivating workers to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
The Ward Trade Union strengthens health care activities for union members by coordinating with Saigon Hoi An General Hospital to organize a free health check-up program for 250 female union members and workers with a total support value of about 250 million VND.
Establishing 4 new grassroots trade unions
Also according to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, in the first 6 months of the year, propaganda and education work was regularly implemented by the Hoi An Tay Ward Trade Union in many diverse and appropriate forms. The emulation movement "Good at work - Good at home" associated with responding to "Ao Dai Week" was widely participated by female union members, creating positive spillover effects, contributing to honoring the beauty and role of women in the new era.
The work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions has achieved many positive results. In the first 6 months of the year, the Ward Trade Union has newly established 4 grassroots trade unions and admitted 142 new union members, contributing to expanding the trade union organization, improving the efficiency of gathering and representing workers in the area.
The conference agreed on key tasks for the last 6 months of 2026, continuing to promote patriotic emulation movements, strengthening union member development, taking care of welfare for workers and building an increasingly strong trade union organization, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.
At the program, the Da Nang City Labor Federation awarded Certificates of Merit to the Hoi An Tay Ward Trade Union for excellently completing the tasks in 2025; awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag for the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers in 2025 to the grassroots Trade Union of the Central Irrigation College; and rewarded 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement to build a strong trade union organization in 2025.
