On May 16, the Kinh Mon Ward Trade Union, Hai Phong City organized an eye examination, vision screening and eye care support program for union members and workers in communes and wards of the old Kinh Mon town.
Despite the hot weather, from early morning, a large number of workers and laborers were present at the examination location to have their eyes checked and receive advice on eye diseases.
Nearly 500 union members and workers of affiliated grassroots trade unions have undergone general eye examinations, vision measurements, automatic refractive measurements and supported eye care products as directed by doctors.

The program is implemented to care for the health of union members and workers; and at the same time raise awareness about preserving vision, promptly detect and advise on the treatment of common eye diseases.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam, a worker at Tan Nguyen Metallurgy Company, said: "Work often exposed to strong light and dust makes my eyes tired and aching many times, but I haven't had time to go for an examination.

Being organized by the Trade Union for free eye exams right in the locality, I find it very practical. After checking, the doctor also advised on how to take care of the eyes to limit the effects during work.
Through this activity, many union members and workers have been detected early signs of vision loss and eye diseases to have appropriate treatment directions. This is also an opportunity to raise awareness of proactively taking care of personal health, contributing to ensuring labor productivity and quality of life.
Representatives of the Kinh Mon Ward Trade Union said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate to organize many practical activities towards union members and workers, contributing to improving material and spiritual life and building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
