Ms. Thai Thi Mai - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Chairwoman of the Management Board of the Fund to support union members and workers of Son La Trade Union said that every year, the Fund Management Board has directed members to conduct surveys to grasp the situation and needs of housing, life, employment, and income of union members and workers.
On that basis, it is necessary to select and propose cases with difficult circumstances, damage to houses due to natural disasters, fires, and the need to rebuild and repair houses.
Guiding union members and employees to prepare support application documents. Organize appraisal, meetings, coordinate inspection, supervision, urge and guide implementation. At the same time, acceptance and settlement of support must be strict, public and in accordance with regulations.
Since the beginning of the year, through the support fund, the Provincial Federation of Labor has supported with a total budget of nearly 2 billion VND for union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the province.
"Effective use of funds not only shows sharing with union members and workers in difficult circumstances but also affirms the role and position of the trade union organization with the function of caring for and protecting the rights of workers" - Ms. Mai shared.
According to Ms. Mai, currently, the need to support union members and workers in difficult circumstances, especially in terms of housing in the province, is still high, while the support fund of the Trade Union organization is limited.
Therefore, Trade Unions at all levels are continuing to diversify forms of propaganda and mobilization to improve management efficiency and use the Son La Trade Union Support Fund to have more union members and workers supported.
