Son La - The Provincial Federation of Labor has supported 39 "Union Shelters" for union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances, with a total cost of more than 1.8 billion VND.

Ms. Thai Thi Mai - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor said that from the beginning of 2025 to now, trade unions at all levels in the province have surveyed and grasped the situation and needs for housing, living, employment, and income of union members and workers.

On that basis, the selection of support for the construction and repair of "Union Shelters" for 39 union members and workers with difficult housing circumstances.

Of which, support was provided for the construction of 33 new houses and the repair of 6 houses, with a total cost of over 1.8 billion VND. The support level for new construction is 50 million VND/house and for repair is 30 million VND/house.

The Trade Union Shelters repaired and built from the Trade Union's support funds not only show sharing with the families of union members and workers but also affirm the role and position of the Trade Union organization with the function of caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers.

The program has become one of the social activities with widespread influence, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and support, affirming the true domestic value of the Trade Union organization.

The support activity of "Union Shelter" in Son La has truly brought practical results, contributing positively to eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and realizing the dream of settling down and making a living for workers.

"In reality, the housing needs of union members and workers in difficult circumstances are still very high, while the support funding source of the trade union organization is quite limited. Therefore, it is necessary to have the attention and support of all levels, sectors, business units, philanthropists... to contribute to bringing a stable life to employees" - Ms. Mai shared.
