On January 18, the Kien Giang Provincial Labor Federation organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of gratitude to the Party" and "Union Tet Market" in 2025.
Ms. Truong Thanh Thuy - President of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - said: In 2024, over 200,000 union members, employees and people will benefit from the Union's care programs. Notable examples include supporting and visiting and giving gifts to nearly 100,000 union members and employees in difficult circumstances with a total budget of nearly 40 billion VND; mobilizing union members, businesses and philanthropists to contribute over 3.6 billion VND to the Union Warm House Program; promptly considering support for building 69 new houses and repairing 18 houses for union members with difficult housing circumstances. Nearly 200 union units and enterprises have promoted dialogue activities to propose employers to negotiate collectively to improve the regime, policies and welfare for union members and employees.
Mobilized 24 units and enterprises to sign and implement the Union Welfare Program with many quality and affordable products and services to serve the needs of shopping, consumption, sightseeing, relaxation... During the year, nearly 25,000 union members and employees used the services and products, saving union members an estimated 2.5 billion VND.
In order to practically care for union members in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year 2025, since November 2024, the Standing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor has developed a plan to organize care for union members and workers with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
The Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the General Confederation of Labor and vendors to support 2,500 union members to buy gifts at the online "Union Tet Market" with a total support value of 1.25 billion VND; coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Kien Giang province, and Kien Giang Construction Investment Consulting Group Joint Stock Company to organize the "Union Tet Market" in Kien Giang province. There were 20 discount booths for union members and 1 booth providing free medical examination and medicine for union members and employees with a total value of goods of over 1.5 billion VND, saving union members and employees over 300 million VND.
The Provincial Federation of Labor and district federations of labor, industry unions organized the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" to support about 7,400 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, and support 32 Union Shelter houses for union members in difficult housing circumstances... total support value is about 6.1 billion VND...
The program also creates a joyful, exciting and warm atmosphere of Tet holiday and creates more opportunities for union members and employees to access and use quality services, products and goods at good prices. Thereby, it demonstrates the concern of the Party Committee, the government and the Trade Union for union members and employees with difficult circumstances in particular; practically encouraging union members and employees to strive to excel in labor, production and work.
At the program, Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa - Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee - acknowledged and commended the proactiveness, creativity and positivity of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, ensuring the motto "All union members and workers have Tet and enjoy Tet"; commended the spirit of solidarity and overcoming difficulties of union members and workers in labor, production and in participating in activities launched by the Trade Union organization.
“This is a very practical activity, actively contributing to the local Party Committee and government in caring for and promptly encouraging union members and workers to have a happy, warm and full Tet holiday,” emphasized Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa.
At the program, sponsoring units and enterprises presented symbolic plaques for the program with a total amount of 173 million VND. The Provincial Federation of Labor presented symbolic plaques to support 4,021 gifts for grassroots trade unions, grassroots trade unions under the Provincial Federation of Labor, 32 Trade Union Shelters for union members and employees at the units. Gifts were presented to 290 union members and employees; 20 students with difficult circumstances who strive to excel in their studies.
