"Not only did we get delicious food, we also felt refreshed." That is the sentiment of many union members and workers that we recorded at the Union Meals in many localities in the Mekong Delta. Because for many workers, this is not only a delicious, nutritious meal than usual.
At Du Duc Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tan Huong Industrial Park, Dong Thap province), where nearly 10,000 employees work, the Trade Union coordinated with business leaders to organize a Trade Union Meal at a price of 45,000 VND/meal, of which the Trade Union supported 25,000 VND/meal and the company supported 20,000 VND/meal.
Ms. Phan Nguyen Thanh Mai - a worker at B0SN and B0U1 Workshops - shared: "The dishes have many dishes, such as: Beetroot pork, vegetable soup, stir-fried cabbage, yogurt, Vinamilk milk, sweet bread... so they are very delicious".
Also with this price, the Trade Union of Lai Vung Garment Co., Ltd. and Truong Giang Seafood Joint Stock Company (Dong Thap) organized a Union Meal for nearly 2,000 employees on the occasion of National Day...

Recorded in the Mekong Delta, on the occasion of National Day, the Trade Union organization has coordinated with enterprises to organize thousands of Trade Union Meals for tens of thousands of members and employees. In An Giang alone, 13,012 union members and employees attended the Union Meal with a total cost of nearly 850 million VND. Of which, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported 100 million VND, the Trade Union nearly 520 million VND, the rest was supported by the unit and enterprise.
In Dong Thap, QVD Dong Thap Food Joint Stock Company decided to increase the meal duration by 10 minutes compared to normal days.
Mr. Le Tan Thien - Chairman of the Trade Union - shared: "According to internal regulations, the meal time is 25 minutes, but at the Trade Union Meal, this time is increased to 35 minutes so that employees have more time to enjoy delicious meals and exchange greetings to increase cohesion".
As for An Giang Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company, the Union Meal is adjusted at the end of the afternoon shift to suit the work characteristics of the majority of employees... With this creative approach, the Union organization adds more flavor and nutrition to the Union Meal in addition to material things.
More than eat well, receive gifts
In An Giang, in parallel with coordinating with the company's leaders to organize a Union Meal for about 9,000 members and employees, the An Giang Samho Company Limited Trade Union also supported 3 members in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of nearly 47 million VND; gave gifts to the children of 97 members with 2 children with excellent academic achievements in the 2024-2025 school year with a total amount of over 29 million VND. Meanwhile, An Giang Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company supported 5 Union Shelters, 22 gifts of money for union members and workers in difficult circumstances (1 million VND/person) and awarded decisions to admit union members to 35 outstanding workers.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Head of the Trade Union Department of Dong Thap Industrial Parks - shared: "In addition to providing additional material support, many Trade Unions have integrated the propaganda of the 80th anniversary of the National Day into the Trade Union Meal as a way to spread the fire of pride in the Vietnamese revolution. Thereby promoting patriotic emulation movements at agencies, enterprises...".
Not stopping there, through talking with union members and workers at the Union Meal, many union organizations in the Mekong Delta also started to design a new shirt so that the Union Meal could spread many times a year. The most common is the story of dividing Union Meals into many delicious meals without having to increase costs.
In reality, many union members and employees said that to divide this increase into many parts, they will then add it to shift meals on days with important events during the year...
