Innovating activities, expanding and developing union members
After Ca Mau province operated the 2-level local government model from July 1, 2025, the trade union organization in the province was also gradually consolidated and rearranged in the direction of being streamlined, effective, and efficient but still ensuring smooth operation from the province to the grassroots level.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) Ngo Diem Phuc said that the whole province currently has 432 grassroots trade unions and professional unions with more than 42,440 union members.
In the context that many businesses are changing production models and labor use in a more flexible direction, trade union levels in the province have proactively innovated methods of approaching workers, strengthened surveys, and grasped the business situation to mobilize the establishment of trade union organizations suitable to reality.
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of many solutions, in this year's Workers' Month alone, the whole province has newly established 11 grassroots trade unions, developed more than 1,700 union members, exceeding the set target.
Notably, the grassroots trade union of Minh Phu Khanh An Seafood Processing Co., Ltd. in Khanh An Industrial Park was established with more than 1,600 workers and laborers joining the trade union organization. This is the grassroots trade union with the largest number of new union members since the beginning of 2026 to date.
In addition to organizational development, trade union levels continue to innovate the content of activities, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center.

Many emulation movements have been implemented in a substantive direction, associated with the production and business tasks of enterprises and the rights of workers such as: "Good labor, creative labor", "Promoting initiatives, technical improvements", "Practicing skills, competing in skilled workers", "Building a green - clean - beautiful working environment"...
Along with that, dialogue and collective bargaining activities continue to be emphasized to build harmonious and stable labor relations, and limit arising labor disputes.
Many grassroots trade unions have proactively proposed to businesses to improve working conditions, improve the quality of lunch meals, and further support welfare for workers.
At the grassroots Trade Union of Minh Phu Seafood Group in Ly Van Lam ward, every year nearly 160 union members and workers are commended and rewarded for their initiatives in labor production, contributing to improving productivity and product quality for businesses.
Typically, the Bac Lieu Ward Trade Union has mobilized to establish a trade union organization at Saigon Minh Hai Eye Hospital and Cosmo Stars Bac Lieu Hotel with more than 100 union members participating, expanding the network of gathering workers outside the state sector.
Taking care of life so that workers can feel secure and attached
In parallel with organizational development, the work of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers continues to be identified as the central task of the trade union organization.
According to the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation, during the recent Lunar New Year, nearly 10,000 turns of union members and workers were supported with a total budget of more than 8 billion VND.
In addition to direct support gifts, trade unions at all levels also organized many practical activities such as visiting workers in difficult circumstances, supporting bus tickets home, free health check-ups, labor law and social insurance counseling.
On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day May 1st, the Provincial Labor Federation directly presented 100 gifts from the Party and State to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each worth 2.5 million VND, including cash and in-kind gifts.

In this year's Workers' Month, trade union levels continue to give 800 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the province.
Mr. Cao Van Co - a worker at Camimex Group Joint Stock Company in Ly Van Lam ward - said that the concern of the trade union organization helps workers have more motivation to overcome difficulties and feel secure in working.
Mr. Huynh Tan Tai - union member of the Drainage and Sanitation Department, Bac Lieu Urban Service Center - said that the concern of the trade union is a great source of spiritual encouragement for direct workers.
During holidays and Tet, the workload increases a lot, but the brothers still try to complete their tasks. The concern of the trade union helps us feel that our work is recognized and appreciated more," Mr. Tai said.
Not only caring for the immediate future, trade union levels also accompany union members for a long time through the "Trade Union Home" program.
Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Labor Federation has supported the construction of 7 houses for union members in housing difficulties with a total budget of 325 million VND. It is expected that in the near future, it will continue to support more cases of union members in difficult circumstances to stabilize their lives.
Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation Ly Cong Bac said that in the coming time, the trade union organization will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation in the direction of being closer to the grassroots level, closer to union members and workers.
At the same time, focus on improving the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements, replicating good models and effective ways of doing things; strengthening care for welfare, protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
Building a strong trade union organization associated with taking good care of workers' lives will contribute to stabilizing labor relations and creating motivation to promote local socio-economic development," Mr. Bac emphasized.
