Union helps union members overcome serious illnesses

VÕ THANH KỲ |

Fighting against stage 4 cancer, returning home, I am very moved every time I remember the loving gifts from the Union that helped me overcome the death penalty.

That is the sharing of Mr. Vo Thanh Ky - working at the Center for Communication - Culture - Sports of Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province to Lao Dong Newspaper.

"More than 3 years ago, I had a shoulder and right head injury. The pain appeared more and more and continued. I took a bus to a hospital outside of Quang Ngai province for examination, but my condition was not confirmed. A few times of re-examination and buying medicine but my condition did not improve, I went to many more hospitals across the country... I also went through a long period of physical therapy combined with the use of thuoc, but my condition did not improve. The body is exhausted by sleepless nights and pain in the shoe.

My wife took her husband nearly a thousand kilometers to Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) for examination in the hope of treatment. The doctor carefully endoscoped and took a photoscopy of the away arch tumor. More than a week later, my wife and I were shocked to receive the news: Cancers are scattered and will have many difficulties in treatment. The terrible headaches haunted him all night and day. Sometimes, I wanted to give up thinking: death will be the end of the pain".

When I heard that I was sick, relatives in the family rushed to call me with the encouragement " just feel secure in treatment, don't worry about money...". My parents immediately transferred a large sum of money after many years of saving. colleagues and the agency rushed to contribute and transfer tens of millions of VND to my account, even though everyone's life is still difficult.

The agency's union requested the Duc Pho Town Labor Federation to mobilize cadres and union members of affiliated union organizations to join hands to help me overcome the danger. Previously, the Duc Pho Town Labor Federation had repeatedly called for help for union members in difficulty and suffering from serious illnesses.

In a short time, colleagues, agencies and trade unions in the town supported me with more than 120 million VND. Before that, I often met them to get documents and write articles on radio, so I became acquaintances. Therefore, when hearing the news of my illness, many union members called, texted to visit, and encouraged me with words filled with love.

He, her sisters, and I work at newspapers, radio and television stations, relatives, neighbors, and friends who transfer money through bank accounts or bring it directly to the hospital. Phone calls and encouraging messages like "medicine to reassure" help me cope with pain caused by cancer cells, causing damage to nerves and organs in the body.

Love and help from family, union and everyone arouse the desire to live in a thin body. I told myself that I had to try to live so as not to lose everyone's love. Although I am always nauseous, I still try to eat and drink enough to overcome the chemotherapy and radiotherapy fluids according to the doctor's advice. It is just a matter of fact that love is extremely important in this life. Love adds determination, helps me overcome the death penalty.

Now, I have been discharged from the hospital, returned to my family and daily work. Occasionally, I am moved and moved when receiving gifts from the Union. Because the Union is like a miraculous hand that guides me through difficult days".
