On June 18, the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that continuing to implement the program "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress", the Provincial Trade Union Delegation visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 3 union members suffering from dangerous diseases and in difficult circumstances.
Among them, 2 union members belonging to the Trade Union of Van Canh Medical Center, including Ms. Le Thi My Thinh (born 1982, residing in Van Canh commune), who is being monitored for treatment after thyroid cancer surgery, and Mr. Doan Minh Quang (born 1982, residing in Canh Vinh commune), who is being treated for liver cancer.
Both are from poor households, having to be treated for illness for a long time, incurring many costs, greatly affecting their lives and family income. Despite difficult circumstances, union members still strive to overcome illness, hoping to soon stabilize their health to continue their work.

The remaining case is Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu (born 1971, residing in Quy Nhon Tay ward), a union member of the grassroots Trade Union of Viet My Production and Trading Co., Ltd. Ms. Dieu is a kitchen assistant and is being treated for breast cancer.
Ms. Dieu's family fell into a particularly difficult situation when she had to quit her job for treatment, her husband lost his ability to work due to mental illness, and her son only worked seasonally with unstable income.
At the families visited, the Provincial Trade Union Working Group cordially inquired about the health, treatment process and life of the union members; encouraged them to maintain their spirit, comply with treatment regimens, and strive to overcome difficulties.

The working delegation affirmed that the Trade Union organization always focuses on grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center of all activities.
Receiving the gift from the program, Ms. Dieu emotionally shared: "DuRING my treatment, my family encountered many difficulties. The concern and inquiries from the Trade Union levels are a great source of encouragement, helping me feel not alone and have more faith to continue treatment and overcome this difficult period.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Long - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation - requested grassroots trade unions to continue to grasp the thoughts and lives of union members; proactively coordinate with agencies and businesses and mobilize social resources to have more appropriate forms of support.
In addition to material support, trade union levels need to pay attention to encouraging spirit, helping union members have more willpower, feel secure in treatment and maintain faith in life.
The program "Gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress" is implemented to spread the meaning and results of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress; showing the concern and care of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases, and occupational diseases.
This is also a way to bring the spirit of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress closer to union members and workers with practical actions right from the grassroots level.
In Gia Lai, the program is expected to present 359 gifts from the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases or occupational diseases. To date, the Provincial Trade Union has provided support to 51 cases with a total budget of 97.3 million VND. The rest will be visited and given gifts in June.
