On the morning of December 29th at the Ca Mau Provincial Conference Center, the 1st Ca Mau Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030 officially opened. Attending were 150 delegates representing more than 46,000 trade union members in the province.
The Congress was honored to welcome the presence of representatives of leaders of central and local agencies.
On the central agency side were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Delegate of the 15th National Assembly, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL); Ms. Do Hong Van - Member of the Presidium, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
On the side of the leaders of Ca Mau province, there were Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee; Le Thanh Trieu - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Binh Tan - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, Mr. Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee.
At the first working session held on December 28, delegates elected the Presidium, the Secretariat of the Congress, the Appraisal Board for delegate status; approved the program and working regulations; reported the appraisal results and voted to recognize the delegate status to attend the Congress.
On behalf of the Presidium of the Congress, Ms. Huynh Ut Muoi - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial Labor Federation - delivered the opening speech emphasizing: In the past time, the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in Ca Mau province have had many favorable conditions: the socio-economy of the province has had breakthrough developments, fairly high and stable growth, the investment and business environment continues to be improved, attracting many potential investors in economy and tourism; culture and society have many positive changes, and the lives of workers, civil servants, and laborers are increasingly improved...
The first Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Trade Union has extremely important tasks: The Congress conducts a summary and evaluation of the situation and results of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Trade Union, term 2023 - 2028. On that basis, clearly point out the strengths, weaknesses, causes and draw lessons learned; set out goals, directions, tasks, and solutions in trade union activities for the 2025 - 2030 term.
Reviewing the leadership and direction of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation, term XI. Selecting typical comrades in terms of qualities, ethics, and capacity to introduce to the General Confederation to issue decisions to appoint to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation, term I and the delegation of Ca Mau province to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The Congress continued to discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 13th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor submitted to the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; the proposals and recommendations of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to the Party, State, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province related to the jobs and lives of workers and building a strong working class and trade union organization.
