Many targets exceed the plan
On June 23, the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor held the 7th Conference of the Executive Committee of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor (Term XI), term 2023 - 2028. Attending and directing the Conference was Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The report at the conference said that the Trade Unions at all levels in the province have mobilized nearly 30 billion VND to take care of the material and spiritual life of union members and workers. Notably, the activity of visiting and giving gifts to 54,027 employees, with a total value of more than 24 billion VND, including 15.74 billion VND in cash and 8.27 billion VND in kind.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang" was implemented with a budget of more than 2.6 billion VND, distributing 2,000 shopping vouchers and 300 gifts worth 390 million VND. Trade unions at all levels also visited nearly 2,000 disadvantaged cases and presented 138 gifts to workers with serious illnesses and work-related accidents.
During Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 4,000 gifts, supported 13 "Union Shelters", and awarded 30 scholarships with a total cost of more than 2.7 billion VND. At the same time, the lower-level trade union mobilized to give 10,766 more gifts worth more than 4.8 billion VND. The "Union Shelter" Fund also supported the construction of 46 new houses and the repair of 1 house with a budget of 2.1 billion VND. Patriotic emulation movements were launched enthusiastically, attracting a large number of union members to participate.
4/9 important targets have exceeded the plan. The rate of non-state workers joining trade unions reached 103%; 51/48 grassroots trade unions of enterprises organized Workers' Month, exceeding 106.25% of the target.
On this occasion, the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor also announced the Decision to dissolve 12 trade unions at the grassroots level, implemented under the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
It is necessary to ensure strictness when arranging the Trade Union organization
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chung - President of Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized that if the Trade Union wants to be strong, it must stick close to the grassroots, listen and take timely care of members and employees. In the context of arranging administrative units and streamlining the apparatus, the provincial trade union organization remains stable, promoting digital transformation, improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities and strengthening supervision of workers' rights, especially in the non-state sector.
Speaking at the 7th Conference of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor Executive Committee, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor praised the outstanding results of the Tra Vinh Trade Union in the first 6 months of the year, especially the achievement and exceeding of 4 targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, good organization of Workers' Month, care for the lives, and protection of the rights of employees and employees.
Regarding the work of reorganizing the apparatus, the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested that the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor strictly implement the Central direction, ensuring the dissolution of 12 Trade Unions at the grassroots level directly above the grassroots level associated with the complete transfer of finance, assets, and records, without interruption of operations or leaving the area vacant. At the same time, coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee and the Department of Home Affairs to take care of the regime and policies for affected cadres, establish Commune and Ward Trade Unions according to new instructions.
The direction for the last 6 months of the year: Following the locality, grasping the number of union members; propagating to raise awareness of union officials; accelerate the development of union members, establish grassroots unions; promote emulation of "Good workers - Creative workers", "Digital transformation among workers", " digitization of the people in digital skills"; coordinate well with border provinces in the process of reorganization.
Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong also expressed his gratitude to the union officials at the district, industry, and public service units who are about to end their activities, acknowledged their contributions in the past time, and hoped that they would continue to accompany and support the workers' movement and the union organization.
