Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (HCMC) has reported to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on directing the final settlement of the case of Vinh Thong Production - Trading - Service Company Limited, located in Tan Binh Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City (Vinh Thong Company) owing wages and social insurance (SI) to protect the legitimate rights of employees.
However, before this proposal, Ho Chi Minh City's trade union officials had carried out many activities to resolutely protect and care for Vinh Thong Company's employees.
In February 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation directed the Legal Consulting Center under the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and the Trade Union of Export Processing Zones and Enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly) to send 11 representatives to represent 137 employees to conduct mediation procedures and sue Vinh Thong Company for owing 3.1 billion VND in salary and not paying social insurance of about 4.8 billion VND. The cost of authorized notarization (41.1 million VND) is fully supported by the Labor Federation (300,000 VND/person).

During the process of resolving the case, the People's Court of Region 9, Ho Chi Minh City issued 118 Decisions recognizing successful mediation and 19 first instance judgments, requiring Vinh Thong Company to pay all salaries and social insurance to 137 employees.
To promptly share the difficulties with employees who are owed wages and do not receive Tet bonuses, the Trade Union of Export Processing Zones and Enterprises of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly) has coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Workers' Support Fund to take care of Tet for 323 employees, each with 2 million VND and a gift worth 100,000 VND.
Next, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation also paid cash support to 323 workers in difficulty of VND1 million/person and during the April 30 holiday, the Ho Chi Minh City Workers Support Fund paid VND500,000 to each worker.
