The emulation movement must be substantive and specific
According to the draft report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (XIII term) submitted to the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress, the goals, targets, tasks, and solutions of the 2026 - 2031 term are built on the basis of concretizing the content of the XIV Congress Document and new policies of the Party, closely following the functions and tasks of the Trade Union organization as stipulated in the Constitution and law, meeting the requirements in the new context.
It is expected that in the next term, 1 emulation movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" will be launched on the foundation of the emulation movement "Good Labor, Creative Labor"; 2 breakthroughs; 3 programs, 4 projects and 5 tasks and solutions.
Discussing this issue, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour - emphasized that the emulation movement focuses on improving labor productivity to meet the goal of double-digit growth with the general spirit of being focused, clear goals and measurable. To achieve this goal, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour proposed that grassroots trade unions continue to build good relationships with business owners; not only perform well the role of representing, protecting, and caring for workers (NLĐ), but also propagate, educate, and help workers have good working styles and attitudes, and have qualifications; organize emulation movements for workers to promote initiatives and improve labor productivity.
Even the theme "Vietnamese Workers: Innovation, improving labor productivity" of Workers' Month 2026 also focuses on this issue.
According to the President of the VGCL, Workers' Month will take place simultaneously at all levels of trade unions nationwide with many new programs and activities such as the "Labor Skills - Sustainable Employment Day"; Peak Month to promote the movement of innovation, digital initiatives, and improve labor productivity... Creating conditions for workers to clearly see their responsibilities in initiative and creativity
The Trade Union organization focuses on launching and implementing emulation movements to promote labor productivity, attracting the participation of union members and workers. Emulation criteria are specifically defined, suitable for each person's work.
From the reality of a manufacturing enterprise, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Meiko Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. - analyzed: The emulation movement must have specific criteria, with clear quantification. More importantly, that criterion needs to be close to the characteristics and reality of the unit. Only then can it create motivation for workers to be interested in creativity and especially through their daily work they will see their responsibility for improving labor productivity.
Mr. Hai gave an example of the topic "Designing automatic drying mechanism for the drying kiln ceiling" by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, a company worker. With the spirit of emulation, creativity and with his own sense of responsibility when seeing workers struggling to crawl into cramped, hot kilns, difficult cleaning operations, and long operating times, Mr. Thang initially had the idea of improving hand tools to clean the kiln ceiling to help workers reduce operations. However, if only that, workers still have to crawl into the kiln, still have to operate manually and are still struggling. Therefore, Mr. Thang designed a cleaning tool attached to the automatic kiln chain and can be easily removed and installed for automatic cleaning. As a result, the kiln ceiling was cleaned. This design was deployed for all 17 drying kilns of the company.
The Chairman of the Trade Union of Meiko Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that only when employees clearly understand their responsibilities and want to improve their income will their creative capacity be improved. That process cannot be without the encouragement and creation of conditions by the Trade Union organization.
On April 24, in Quang Ninh, the Central Steering Committee for the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (ATVSLĐ) coordinated with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to organize the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.
