The motto "Each worker is a drug prevention and control propagandist
Based on Plan No. 05/KH-TLĐ dated June 16, 2026 on the implementation of Sub-project 4 "Improving the effectiveness of propaganda on drug prevention and control for workers in industrial parks" in Project 7: Communication and education on drug prevention and control under the National Target Program on drug prevention and control to 2030 in 2026, the VGCL has developed a plan to organize a communication program, art exchange, and seminar on drug prevention and control for workers in industrial parks (program).
Standing Vice President of the VGCL Ngo Duy Hieu said that through the program, affirming the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in drug prevention and control; strongly spreading the message of drug prevention and control among workers and the whole society to raise awareness, responsibility and self-prevention awareness of workers before the danger of drugs; contributing to preventing and repelling drug evils, protecting human resources, ensuring security and order in industrial parks and export processing zones.
The VGCL closely combines propaganda and education on drug prevention and control with activities to care for and improve the material and spiritual life of union members and workers. Through the organization of welfare booths, helping workers access quality products and services with discounts, suitable for the consumption needs of union members and workers.
This is an activity at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour level that initiates the implementation of Sub-project 4 in trade union levels, creating a premise for the effective implementation of tasks of the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control to 2030. Striving through the program and related communication activities to directly and indirectly reach 30,000 - 50,000 workers and laborers" - Standing Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Ngo Duy Hieu said.
The VGCL will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security to organize a practical, meaningful, close, attractive, socio-political program suitable for workers, ensuring the right purpose and requirements set out; attracting a large number of officials, union members, and workers to participate, creating a propaganda effect and widespread spread in the Trade Union system and the whole society.
Activities within the framework of the program must deeply understand the trade union nature and the spirit of workers, harmoniously combining propaganda and education on drug prevention and control with cultural activities, exchanges, and care for the welfare of union members and workers with the motto "Each worker is a drug prevention and control propagandist".
About 3,000 union members and workers directly participated in the program.
The theme of the program is "Vietnamese workers say no to drugs"; the program is named "Vietnamese workers say no to drugs - Million hearts, a determination". The program takes place in 2 days, September 18-19, in Hai Phong City.
According to the program organizing committee, there will be about 3,100 delegates, including Party and State leaders, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; members of the Central Steering Committee of the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control to 2030; leaders of departments, ministries, branches and central socio-political organizations; leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and departments and units directly under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; representatives of businesses in industrial parks; about 3,000 union members and workers, mainly workers working in industrial parks and export processing zones in Hai Phong City...
The main activities of the program are a special art program and launching a campaign to prevent and combat drugs among workers - taking place on Friday evening, September 18; "Vietnamese Workers Resolutely Say No to Drugs" Festival - taking place on Saturday, September 19.
