Directly giving gifts to workers at the construction site
Recently, the delegation of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union - visited, encouraged and presented gifts to union members and employees of Song Da 9 Joint Stock Company working at Pake Hydropower Plant and Nam Khanh Hydropower Plant (Lao Cai province).
During the visit, the Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union presented 50 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to union members and employees of Song Da 9 Joint Stock Company under Song Da Corporation. These gifts not only have material significance but are also a source of spiritual encouragement, demonstrating the deep concern of the Trade Union for the lives of employees.
This activity is part of a series of programs to implement the Plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
According to the Plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union plans to present a total of 7,000 gifts, each consisting of 700,000 VND in cash and a gift bag worth 300,000 VND. For particularly difficult cases, support can be up to 2,000,000 VND/person.
The gift-giving program for union members and workers on this occasion will be implemented at affiliated unions, as well as through direct visits by the Vietnam Construction Trade Union to units, factories, and construction sites during Tet.
Mr. Phan Ngoc Hoang (born in 1995; residing in Nam Mon commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province) is one of the workers who received gifts from the Vietnam Construction Trade Union. In the last days of 2024, Mr. Hoang received two joys, when he received support to build a Union Shelter house from the Emulation Block No. 1 of the Central Industry Trade Union, and received Tet gifts from the Vietnam Construction Trade Union.
Receiving an early Tet gift from the Vietnam Construction Trade Union, the male Dao worker was very touched. “The gift from the union helps my family feel warmer and more secure at the end of the year, thereby encouraging me to overcome difficulties and complete the assigned work well,” Mr. Hoang shared.
Unions coordinate with professionals to care for workers
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union - said that this year is the year when many large projects of the country are being implemented. The construction industry is very active in implementing these projects; the number of workers working at construction sites is very large.
Besides, this year, the Solar New Year and Lunar New Year are quite close to each other, so as soon as the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor had a plan to implement Tet care, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union issued a plan and implemented care activities as soon as possible so that trade unions at all levels in the industry can be more proactive in this activity.
"Industry trade unions assign trade unions at all levels, in addition to direct concern, to coordinate with leaders and professionals to take care of workers' welfare, thereby stabilizing production and completing assigned works and projects," Mr. Tung shared.
For workers who have to work during Tet, the Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union hopes that grassroots trade unions will directly take care of and organize activities according to the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, such as organizing the programs Tet Sum Vay, Tet Khong Xa Nha...
“The activities of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union aim to support and share difficulties with workers, helping them to have a warmer and more fulfilling Tet. These activities also affirm the companionship and concern of the Trade Union organization with the lives and jobs of union members and workers in the construction industry,” Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung emphasized.
