Workers with unpaid wages are excited to receive Tet gifts from the Union

ĐÌNH TRỌNG |

Hundreds of workers in Binh Duong who were owed wages received Tet gifts worth 1 million VND from the Union.

On January 24, many workers who used to work at Hoang Sinh Import-Export Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Hoang Sinh Company, Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province) said that they had received Tet gifts from the Binh Duong Provincial Trade Union.

The worker received a gift of 700,000 VND in cash and necessities worth 300,000 VND.

Mr. Vo Hoang Ut Oanh (50 years old, from Kien Giang) said that the company still owes him 3 months of salary and social insurance contributions. Since quitting his job, Mr. Vo Hoang Ut Oanh has been working part-time to pay off his debt and make ends meet. Due to the hardship, Mr. Ut Oanh will stay in Binh Duong this Tet.

"Luckily, the Binh Duong union supported me with a Tet gift of 1 million VND. I have money to spend during Tet. Living alone, this gift is enough to celebrate Tet in Binh Duong. I thank the union very much" - Mr. Vo Hoang Ut Oanh expressed.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (60 years old, from Ben Tre) said that Hoang Sinh company owes him 5 months of salary. Currently, Mr. Minh has to work as a security guard to earn money to make ends meet.

"I was owed 5 months of salary, life was very difficult. During Tet, the union supported me with a gift of 1 million VND, I found it very meaningful. This gift is enough for my wife and I to cover the Tet holidays" - Mr. Minh shared.

The Binh Duong Provincial Labor Union said that supporting these workers is part of the plan to take care of Tet for disadvantaged workers in Binh Duong. In early August 2024, the Binh Duong Provincial Labor Union supported nearly 1,000 workers at this company with 1 million VND each along with necessities.
