Warming the hearts of workers amidst the worries
In the days leading up to Tet, when living expenses increase, many workers in Vinh Long province cannot hide their joy when receiving gifts from the Trade Union organization. For them, it is not only material support but also timely spiritual encouragement.
Holding 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag worth 300,000 VND, Ms. Le Cam Tu - a worker at a leather shoe company in Binh Minh Industrial Park - was moved because this year her family has more conditions to prepare for Tet.
Ms. Tu's family is in difficult circumstances. Her husband works as a hired laborer with unstable income, all household expenses from electricity, water to tuition fees for her 3rd grade son depend on her worker's salary.
With this additional amount, I dare to buy braised pork with duck eggs, some cakes and jams for my child. Normally, I only worry about enough to eat. Receiving gifts makes me feel very warm," Ms. Tu shared.
She said that for many years she has hardly bought anything. This Tet, she only saved up to buy her son a new set of clothes, and continues to save money to prepare for illness.

Sharing the joy, Ms. Tran Thi Hong (born in 1984) - a garment worker - also teared up when receiving gifts. As a single mother raising two young children and taking care of her elderly mother with joint pain, she always has to save every expense.
With an income of more than 6 million VND per month, she has to worry about living expenses and medicine, so her life is often short of money. Tet makes the worry even heavier.
This gift helps the family reduce the pressure of money for the market in the first days of the year. More importantly, it feels like I am being cared for and not left behind," Ms. Hong expressed.
For many workers, each gift is not only of material value but also a sharing, adding motivation for them to feel secure in working and attached to the business in the new year.
Taking care of the grassroots level, not leaving anyone behind
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that this Tet holiday, trade union levels have mobilized many resources to care for union members and workers.
The whole province has awarded more than 12,000 gifts with a total budget of about 7.5 billion VND, focusing on prioritizing workers in difficult circumstances, low incomes, and those affected by employment.
Notably, over 50 gifts were given to workers of Tra Vinh Urban Joint Stock Company who had to stop working because the enterprise did not win the bidding package, causing disruption to their lives.

Temporary job suspension has disrupted the income of many families, and spending depends on meager accumulation. Timely support from the Trade Union helps them reduce pressure in the days leading up to Tet.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh, care work will not only stop at holidays and Tet but will continue to be implemented throughout 2026 and the following years.
Trade unions at all levels will strengthen grasping the situation at the grassroots level, promptly support cases of difficulties arising, and coordinate to introduce jobs, ensuring long-term rights and livelihoods for workers.
That companionship not only brings a more fulfilling Tet to workers but also contributes to strengthening trust, so that they can feel secure in sticking together and continuing to work and produce in the new year," Mr. Linh added.
