Mr. Nguyen Van Hau - a postpartum worker at a garment company in Ninh Binh - shared: "We hope the company's trade union will pay more attention to difficult circumstances in the company, and can use the trade union fund to lend capital to employees at preferential interest rates.
Mr. Hau hopes that, in addition to cases of work accidents or serious illnesses, trade unions also need to pay more attention to workers who are poor, near-poor households or have relatives suffering from incurable diseases. Cash support and necessities at many times of the year will help workers alleviate difficulties.
Regarding the need for loans, the male worker hopes that workers will have access to preferential loans at interest rates of about 6-7% with simple and convenient procedures. According to him, this will be a solution to help workers solve financial difficulties and limit the risk of falling into the "trap" of black credit.

For grassroots trade unions, Mr. Hau proposed that the trade union executive committee should have people who directly work as workers. "The representative who comes from workers will understand the thoughts and aspirations of workers better," Mr. Hau expressed.
In addition, he hopes that the trade union will strengthen propaganda sessions on the company's internal regulations, policies and laws related to the rights and obligations of workers so that workers understand their rights and limit violations of labor contracts.
The male worker also proposed that there should be a direct and effective connection channel between workers and regional trade union leaders to promptly remove problems arising at enterprises.
Regarding social housing policy, Mr. Hau said that in many rural areas there are currently no social housing projects for workers. Therefore, he hopes that trade union organizations can stand up to support and create conditions for workers to access land funds at appropriate prices to stabilize their long-term lives.
From the perspective of grassroots trade union officials, Mr. Nguyen Van Dat - a trade union official at a leather shoe enterprise in Ninh Binh - said that he wants to participate more in training and knowledge exchange activities to improve skills to support union members.
Currently, we only have 1-2 direct propaganda sessions each year about labor policy and social insurance. While regulations have changed quite a lot, receiving only documents sometimes makes it difficult for grassroots officials to fully grasp to advise workers," Mr. Dat shared.
According to Mr. Dat, cultural, sports, and tourism activities for trade union officials and grassroots union members are still limited, and most of them have to be organized themselves or ask for funding from businesses. Therefore, he hopes to have a separate funding source to maintain activities to connect union members.
Mr. Dat also hopes that the upper-level trade union will have more practical incentive mechanisms for trade union officials and union members who are active and creative in their work. Besides certificates of merit, he believes that forms of cash rewards will create more motivation for grassroots trade union officials.
