On election day March 15, many workers in export processing zones and industrial parks in Can Tho City took advantage of the time before or after working hours to go to polling stations to exercise their citizen rights.

After the working shift, Mr. Diep Son Dai, a worker of HS Vietnam Chemical Co., Ltd. - Soc Trang Branch in An Nghiep Industrial Park (Can Tho City) came to the polling station in Dai An hamlet, My Xuyen ward to exercise his citizenship rights.
Mr. Dai shared that he had just finished his night shift from 10 pm the previous night to 6 am this morning. After going home to rest for a while, around 7 am, he arrived at the polling station.
Although working the night shift is quite tiring, I still take advantage of going to vote. This is the right and also the responsibility of every citizen," Mr. Dai said.
Mr. Dai said that he has participated in the election many times and always tries to arrange time to go to the polls fully. Previously, when he was still working in the locality, he participated in the Youth Union and Front activities and had a time holding the role of Head of the People's Committee of Dai An hamlet, Dai Tam commune (old), and also participated in running for election as a delegate of the Commune People's Council.
Therefore, he is even more aware of the meaning of participating in elections to select delegates with capacity, enthusiasm, representing the will and aspirations of the people.

Also participating in voting on March 15, Mr. Huynh Thanh Hoai - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of HS Vietnam Chemical Co., Ltd. - Soc Trang Branch came to the Salatel polling station in Tra Duc hamlet, polling area No. 5, polling unit No. 2, Tai Van commune (Can Tho City).
According to Mr. Hoai, the election of National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels this time does not affect the voting participation of union members and employees in the company. Because businesses arrange working hours from Monday to Saturday, and Sunday is off, workers have favorable conditions to return to their place of residence to exercise their citizenship rights.
Currently, the company has about 1,300 workers, most of whom participate in local elections. Before the election day, the trade union also actively propagated and shared information related to elections through groups and social networks for union members and workers to fully grasp.
We want union members and workers to choose candidates with heart, virtue, who truly listen and understand workers," Mr. Hoai shared.
According to Mr. Hoai, in the context of increasing living costs, workers also expect delegates after being elected to pay more attention to workers' lives, especially issues related to salaries, working hours, maternity benefits and social security policies at enterprises.
Ms. Thai Le Quan - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Tuntex Soc Trang Co., Ltd. - said that the election day falls on Sunday, the enterprise also does not organize production, creating conditions for union members and workers to return to their localities to participate in voting.
Ms. Quan said that the company currently has 1,650 union members/1,655 employees. "Most union members return to their places of residence to exercise their voting rights. This is an opportunity for each employee to show their civic responsibility and contribute to selecting worthy delegates," Ms. Quan said.
