Born into a poor family in the countryside, Mr. Pham Dinh Nam (30 years old) - Head of the technical and chemical department of Apache Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd. (Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang) - has gone through a determined journey to rise up in life.
Mr. Pham Dinh Nam said that due to difficult family circumstances, he had to drop out of school in grade 10. Luckily, he was accepted to work at Apache Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd.
Without a degree, I always seek to learn from my previous colleagues. From an ordinary worker, he gradually mastered the techniques and was then sent to train by the company. After that, realizing that the production process at the company was still limited, to improve labor efficiency and save chemicals, I proposed to initiate a change to the type of glue on the EVA base and remove the W-104/224-2 scanning process, said Mr. Nam.
According to Mr. Nam, this initiative helps save costs on chemical purchases, eliminating unnecessary steps without affecting the durability and quality of the product. Thanks to that, time is saved and output is increased for the factory.
Mr. Nam added that with the above initiative, in 1 year (from May 2022 to May 2023), the total amount of savings in working time and chemical savings at the unit is more than 1.2 billion VND. Thereby, it has contributed to bringing high economic efficiency to businesses and replicating this model for the company's factories throughout the system.
Mr. Le Minh Hung - Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) - said that with his achievements, Mr. Pham Dinh Nam was proposed by the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor and awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023.

Mr. Hung emphasized that not only is he a good worker, Mr. Nam is also an example of overcoming difficulties, inspiring many other young workers. For him, no matter how difficult the starting point is, as long as he is persistent, learners and not afraid to innovate, everyone can rise up and create value for themselves as well as for the business.
