Hard work returns
Mr. Nguyen Khac Trong and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh are both workers at Nissei Electric Hanoi Co., Ltd. During Tet, like all officials, employees, and workers of the company, they are supported with travel expenses during Tet along the distance between Hanoi and their hometown.
When returning to their hometown for Tet, they and their 3 children were provided with free buses organized by the Hanoi City Labor Federation. Mr. Trong is from Ninh Binh, Ms. Anh is from Nghe An. The two became husband and wife, and moved their household registration to Ninh Binh. It has been a long time since the small family of 5, including husband and wife and 3 children, returned to their maternal hometown in Nghe An for Tet. Compared to previous years, this year, the whole family was provided with free buses from the Trade Union, so they saved some money. This amount of money, they bought more candies, fruits, and decorations to bring back to their hometown.
Taking the Trade Union bus home for Tet has comfortable seating, the bus does not pick up passengers along the way. And when returning to the city on the 5th day of Tet, the couple encountered difficulties. The whole family of 5, the baby sitting on their lap, not counting tickets, and buying a ticket for 300,000 VND/person. Mr. Trong recounted that although he had registered for a bed and arrived from Den Con intersection (Nghe An) - the point near the beginning of the route but there was no seat, when his family got on the bus, the bus was already crowded...
Recalling Ms. Ngoc Anh's confidences before returning to her hometown by free bus organized by the Hanoi Labor Federation, with the Trade Union Bus program, she hopes that the upper-level Trade Union will support and exchange with partners to have more free bus tickets or discounted bus tickets for union members far from home. Because there are many workers in difficult circumstances, far from home, and young people living in Tay Ninh coming to Hanoi to work, if there is no support, travel costs are very high, affecting life.
It took 3 legs to get back to the motel
The journey from Dien Chau (Nghe An) to the rented house in Kim Chung (Hanoi) of Mr. Vu Quang Manh and Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nguyet's family was also no less arduous. Working as workers in Thang Long industrial park, they were taken a free bus by the Hanoi Trade Union to return to their hometown for Tet. At that time, the couple and 2 children saved 1.2 million VND in ticket money and went straight.
When returning to Hanoi, the amount of money to buy a bus ticket outside was 1 million VND and it took 3 legs to get back to the boarding house with fatigue. The first leg was from home to the pick-up point, the second leg was from Nghe An to Hanoi, and the third leg was from inner Hanoi hiring a taxi costing 200,000 VND to get back to the boarding house in Kim Chung.
Telling reporters about the journey from 8 am to 3 pm, Ms. Nguyet said: A trip that is too tiring compared to when returning to my hometown to celebrate Tet by Trade Union bus. Ms. Nguyet also said that, anyway, our family was lucky to buy tickets at such a price, but my friend from the same hometown in the rented room next door had to buy a ticket price of 300,000 VND for the same distance...
To save some money for daily life, everyone takes advantage of bringing rice, vegetables, and meat. Like Ms. Nguyet and Mr. Manh, going to Hanoi, in addition to a suitcase of clothes, there is also 1 sack of rice, 1 sack of vegetables, banh chung, pork... After the Tet holiday, returning to the rented room, taking advantage of cleaning, then the workers gathered together to organize a New Year's party to wish each other a Happy New Year. On the tray were food brought from the countryside. At that time, although the fatigue throughout the journey from the countryside to Hanoi had not diminished, they had the joy of meeting and chatting together.
