On February 23 (ie, the 7th day of the first lunar month), Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Da Lat Urban Services Joint Stock Company (Lam Dong) said that the amount of domestic waste generated in wards in Da Lat city is on average about 350 tons/day.
Especially on the night of December 29th of the lunar calendar, the volume of garbage increased sharply, exceeding 1,000 tons. In the period from December 29th of the lunar calendar to the end of January 6th of the lunar calendar, the amount of domestic waste each day increased 2.5–3 times compared to normal days.

Especially from New Year's Eve to the 4th day of Tet, at some waste hotspots, the unit had to increase 24/24 hour on-duty personnel. Nearly 300 sanitation workers were mobilized, divided into shifts continuously, almost no Tet holiday time.
According to Mr. Tuyen, the pressure comes not only from the increased volume of waste but also from the need for quick treatment, ensuring urban aesthetics of the tourist city.

In the moment of New Year's Eve, when many families gather, environmental workers are still diligently collecting and cleaning to keep the streets clean the next morning.
Mr. Thai Ngo Hung, Head of the Environmental Sanitation Team at Da Lat market, said that the team has 10 members, mainly women, working in two shifts: Morning shift from 5am to 5pm, night shift from 7pm to 3am the next morning.
According to Mr. Hung, this Tet holiday, the number of visitors to Da Lat is large, and garbage generated increased sharply. From the 1st to the 6th day, the collection team collects an average of 15–20 tons of garbage per day. To keep the market environment clean and beautiful, members must work at full capacity.

During Tet days, worker groups and specialized vehicles continuously collect domestic waste in neighborhoods, ensuring environmental sanitation in the area.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, a sanitation worker, said that she has been attached to the profession for more than 20 years. According to her, when Da Lat market is operating, workers are present, regardless of sunny or rainy day or night.
Despite the hardship, everyone is still proud to contribute to preserving the beautiful image of the city in the eyes of people and tourists.

Clean and beautiful streets during Tet are the result of the silent contribution of many environmental workers, including many women working overnight.
On peak tourist days, the first image tourists feel is the urban landscape. A clean environment contributes to creating a good impression, improving the quality of life and the image of the locality.

On New Year's Eve, December 29th of 2026, Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, visited, encouraged and acknowledged the contributions of environmental workers in preserving the green and beautiful Da Lat city.
