On February 22, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a strong statement on Moscow's essential role in maintaining the existence and legitimacy of the Venezuelan state in the international arena.
This noteworthy assessment was shared in detail by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova in an interview with TASS news agency.
According to Ms. Zakharova, the consistent stance and strong support from Moscow have helped this South American nation preserve its core state structure.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that without the persistent companionship of the Moscow government over the past time, Venezuela's national foundation would probably have been broken and only extremely small fragments remained.
Going deeper into analyzing the attitudes of Western countries, this female spokeswoman used a sharp metaphor to describe the diplomatic landscape. She pointed out that if there is no geopolitical weight from Moscow, no Western power will agree to negotiate with the Caracas government. At that time, Venezuela will be treated exactly as the West often implies: Letting the big powers decide.
However, the current situation has completely changed thanks to the strategic support of Moscow. Ms. Zakharova affirmed that now, the international community is forced to treat Caracas as real partners, people with weighty voices and equal participants in negotiations at the conference table. She emphasized that this is the breakthrough difference that Moscow's diplomatic power has created.
The above statement was made in the context that Moscow has long played the role of a strategic ally and the most important trading partner of Caracas.
For many years, despite fierce economic sanctions and isolationist pressure from the US and European allies, Russia has continuously provided strategic energy cooperation and a solid diplomatic shield at multilateral forums to help this South American nation stand firm against storms.
