Preparing for the new development stage of the country
One of the contents emphasized by President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang in his opening speech at the Conference was the Plan to organize activities for Workers' Month in 2025.
2025 is the year of many important activities and events of the country; the second year of implementing the Resolution of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, the year the Trade Union Law takes effect. After reviewing and considering, the Standing Committee of the Presidium agreed to propose the theme of the 2025 Workers' Month as "Vietnamese Workers Pioneering to enter a new era".
At the conference, presenting the Plan to organize Workers' Month 2025 in conjunction with the celebration of 139 years of International Labor Day and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu said that the target set is to strive for 55% or more of grassroots trade unions in all types of enterprises to have at least one activity in response to Workers' Month 2025; 35% or more of grassroots trade unions of administrative agencies and public service units to have at least one appropriate activity in response to Workers' Month 2025.
There are key programs and activities including: "Creative workers, firmly entering the new era"; "May Dialogue"; "Thank you to workers"; Organizing the Peak Month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; introducing the development of workers' party members; "Propaganda, raising awareness of union members and workers" and activities at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level...
The goal of the activities of Workers' Month in 2025 is to affirm the role, position and contribution of the GCCN in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland; be a pioneer force in the cause of national renewal, confidently entering a new era - the era of national growth. Encourage workers to actively study, improve their qualifications, skills, change careers, approach modern labor trends, adapt to the context of international integration and the 4th Industrial Revolution, prepare for the new development stage of the country...
With the high consensus of the Presidium members, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang concluded that the plan to organize Workers' Month in 2025 will be issued right after this conference.
Strive to establish and exploit an e-commerce trading floor to meet the needs of union members and employees
The report on the results of caring for union members and workers before and after the Lunar New Year 2025 presented by Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh said that all levels of trade unions have been proactive, focused resources, and selected care activities in accordance with the practical situation in the locality, unit and the needs and aspirations of the majority of union members and workers. The caring activities are organized practically and effectively, both caring for material things and spiritual things, always having innovation, creativity, going into depth, strongly oriented towards the grassroots, union members and employees of the union organization, creating a clear mark and confidence of union members and employees, recognized and highly appreciated by departments, ministries, branches, and leaders of the Party and State...
Commenting on this content, Ms. Vu Thi Giang Huong, Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An - President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union - both affirmed that the propaganda work on Tet care activities has been effectively implemented, creating good public opinion in society.
The report on the Program for implementing the Resolution of the 13th Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on "Focusing resources on caring for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation" for the period 2024 - 2028 also presented by Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh, clearly stating that the main target of 100% of union members is to be fully informed about the policies and programs for caring for the welfare of the union organization. Strive for at least 95% of union members to enjoy policies, welfare care programs, cultural, artistic, physical education, sports, sightseeing, resorts, etc. of union organizations or joint union organizations; 100% of union members are visited and given gifts when facing difficult circumstances.
Strive to establish, manage, and effectively exploit an e-commerce trading floor or a website of a union organization to sell products and goods to meet the needs of union members and employees. Strive to inspect and supervise 30% of grassroots trade unions and 15% of enterprise trade unions with over 300 union members to take care of welfare...
At the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung presented the reception, revision, promulgation of the Charter of Vietnam Trade Unions and Guidelines for implementing the Charter of Vietnam Trade Unions and Regulations on the organization and operation of grassroots trade unions.
With this content, based on the characteristics of the locality, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that some major cities and localities give additional comments to improve. Submissions on the arrangement of central and equivalent industry unions and corporate-level trade unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Submissions on amending and supplementing the Working Regulations of the Executive Committee and Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term XIII, 2023 - 2028; Submissions and draft Notice on the assignment of the Standing Committee of the Presidium, members of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (term XIII), 2023 - 2028 were also presented by Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung.
Concluding the conference, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized the need to focus on research to contribute opinions, especially on problems to streamline the entire apparatus. It is necessary to promote the sense of responsibility in implementing the Party's resolutions on innovation and streamlining the apparatus, and the responsibility to make the apparatus after streamlining good. Streamlining the apparatus is very democratic but not punctual so that the apparatus must be streamlined strongly; each civil servant must ensure the requirements of work in the transition period...
