The Long Bien District Labor Federation has provided nearly 50 books in various fields on law, life, family care, work skills, etc. with a total cost of VND 5,954,000 for 2 cultural activity points for workers in the district. It is worth mentioning that the diversity of the books provided is based on the needs of union members and workers.
According to the District Labor Federation, books in many fields in the Union Bookcase at the Workers' Cultural Activity Points will raise awareness among union members and workers about the importance of reading. Thereby, helping union members and workers gain skills to receive and use information for study, work, research and entertainment. This activity demonstrates the concern and responsibility of the Union organization and functional agencies for building and developing a reading culture for union members and workers, contributing to building a learning society and developing human resources in the capital.
Implementing Program No. 06-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee, the City Labor Federation has advised on the development and is currently implementing well the Project on Building Workers' Cultural Activity Points at Enterprises, Industrial Parks, Export Processing Zones and Areas with Concentrated Workers' Residence in the period of 2022 - 2025. The City Labor Federation has guided all levels of the Capital's Trade Unions to implement, focus on completing, maintaining and improving the quality of activities of the Workers' Cultural Activity Point models. In fact, equipping books for the Trade Union Bookcases at workers' cultural activity points has made an important contribution to spreading the reading culture in units and enterprises. Up to now, the Trade Union Bookcase and Law Bookcase models have effectively exploited and managed 354 Law Bookcases at workers' dormitories; Over 2,365 Law Bookcases and Trade Union Bookcases at enterprises are equipped with a variety of books to improve understanding, knowledge of law, society, entertainment... for workers. From organizing and equipping books for Trade Union Bookcases at cultural activity points of workers of the Trade Union organization, many enterprises invest in facilities such as buying more books, newspapers, documents, arranging reading rooms for workers...
The Union Bookcase at the cultural activity points of workers in enterprises not only contributes to improving the cultural and spiritual life but also helps union members and employees access new knowledge, especially knowledge about labor law and policies related to employees. This is the basis for union members and employees to protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests in labor relations, while fulfilling their obligations and responsibilities.
