Strengthening coordination in inspection and supervision of policy implementation
The Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) currently has 141,004 union members/148,609 workers (reaching a rate of 94.88% of union members/total number of workers). To ensure the legitimate and legal rights of union members and workers, especially female workers, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has implemented many activities, including taking care of the children of union members and workers, thereby helping them feel more secure in their work.
In addition, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor strengthens coordination in inspecting, supervising or chairing the supervision of the implementation of policies and regimes for female and child workers; at the same time, coordinates in inspecting and supervising the implementation of the provisions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Charter on women's work, women's policies, gender equality, and women's progress.
In particular, the Industry Union promotes the implementation of activities to care for union members and workers such as the model "Your Health", " Breast pump room at workplace", "Summer Camp for workers' children", "Collision wedding ceremony". These models have supported union members and employees practically and have been responded to by many people. Along with that, many propaganda documents to raise awareness and skills of employees on child care, building family happiness were compiled to improve knowledge for union members, employees...
Most recently, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized a ceremony to honor 36 exemplary families; 50 excellent students nationally and internationally; 13 students who overcame difficulties and studied well were commended and rewarded. The commendation ceremony is not only a way to honor and support but also an opportunity for everyone to share experiences in studying, raising children, building happy families.
Creating positive changes in family and children's work
According to the assessment, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has performed well the function of caring for, representing, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers - especially female and child workers - to contribute to demonstrating the comprehensive care and protection role of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers; encouraged and supported workers to continue to do well in family building, child care, and education, while also completing well the assigned work at the agency or unit.
In the new situation, in order to have more activities to care for, encourage and share difficulties to help families and children have good learning conditions and nurture their dreams of becoming the excellent future generation of the country, one of the proposals of Minister Nguyen Hong Dien is that Party committees and organizations at all levels must regularly lead and direct the work of family building; promote the role and responsibility of heads at all levels in family building work.
It is necessary to raise the awareness of employees about family work, building a prosperous, progressive and happy family is one of the important goals of the socio-economic development strategy, and at the same time, it is the responsibility of every family in the period of promoting socialism and emulation of the country.
The Minister emphasized that all levels need to pay attention to implementation, creating positive changes in family and children's work. Formed many movements of practical significance, such as the movements: "All people unite to build a new life in residential areas", "Action month for children", "All people take children to school", "All society protects, cares for and educates children", "Shopping orphans without shelter", "Warm home", "Scholarship for poor children with a lot of enthusiasm for learning"...
Through movements, responsibilities and obligations of families, schools and society towards children are clearly demonstrated and achieved practical results.
