Awarding 1 billion VND to support union members in difficulty
Recently, at the National Day for National Security Protection in all levels of the City Trade Union in 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation (DOLF) presented many meaningful gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
First is 1,000 gifts, each worth 1,000,000 VND in cash, with a total value of 1 billion VND from the union's financial resources. These gifts are given to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; suffering from serious illnesses; having work accidents, occupational diseases; having reduced working hours, losing their jobs, stopping work; union members from policy families, local poor households...
Next, the City Labor Federation presented the 2nd Trade Union Shelter in 2025 to 43 union members, including 20 newly built houses and 23 repaired houses, with a total cost of nearly 1.5 billion VND.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Da Nang City presented the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the City People's Committee to the City Labor Federation for its outstanding achievements in organizing the festival; Da Nang City Police awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals with achievements in preparation work.
The City Labor Federation also commended 5 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements in building a model of self-managed workers' groups in boarding houses, actively contributing to the movement of All People Protecting National Security.
This year's festival attracted 12 teams from grassroots trade unions under the City Labor Federation, with many exciting activities: karaoke singing competition, tug of war and soap dancing. In the series of events, the Da Nang City Labor Federation plans to launch the Da Nang Trade Union App and organize the program "Trade Union Meal 2025". With this program, each meal is supported with 30,000 VND and has been and is being piloted at 10 grassroots trade unions in industrial parks.
Focus on enhancing position and role
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, Member of the City Party Committee, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: The 2025 National Day for National Security Protection in the City's Trade Unions at all levels aims to educate the tradition of patriotism, national pride, raise the sense of responsibility of union officials, union members, and workers, meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation and in the cause of national security protection, ensuring social order and safety.
Speaking at the Festival, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - praised the movement of All People Protecting National Security in all levels of trade unions in recent times for their effectiveness and strong influence in the community.
To make the movement more widely and effectively implemented, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Thi suggested that the City Labor Federation maintain and replicate advanced models and models in the direction of "self-defense, self-management, self-protection, self-reconciliation" at the grassroots level. At the same time, continue to develop the model of self-managed workers' groups in boarding houses in wards and communes; regularly summarize, reward, and promptly encourage groups and individuals to be active.
Regarding trade union activities, Ms. Tran Thi Anh Thi suggested that the City Labor Federation focus on enhancing the position, role and prestige of grassroots trade union organizations; at the same time, developing appropriate solutions and forms to direct the movement to become more and more substantial and effective.
The content of ensuring security and order, building a movement of All People Protecting National Security also needs to be integrated into programs, target projects and socio-economic development plans of agencies and enterprises.
