4 benefits of joining the Self-Management Group
Ms. Luu Thi Xuan, currently living in Self-managed Workers Group No. 1, Hoa Khanh ward, is one of the workers present at the meeting, giving gifts of gratitude to 74 Self-managed Workers Groups in boarding houses organized by the Da Nang City Labor Federation on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
Ms. Xuan shared: Being a girl far from home to earn a living, participating in the Self-managed Workers' Group of the boarding house area brings her 4 big benefits. First, my voice, thoughts, aspirations, and proposals are always listened to, responded to, and resolved quickly at all levels. Second, when being a member of the Self-managed Workers' Group, workers are always cared for, loved, and helped in life and work. "Every time I am sick or have sadness, I am always cared for, visited, and encouraged by my siblings and uncles. This makes me feel warm when working far from home," Ms. Xuan said.
The third benefit is that "my head will become brighter" when I am regularly propagated and guided on regimes, policies and laws related to the legitimate rights and interests of workers. Finally, the fourth benefit is that "not only during Tet and Spring like this, but all year round, not only us but also our children regularly receive timely, warm and meaningful gifts from Trade Union organizations at all levels," Ms. Xuan added.
Uniting nucleus
Mr. Le Van Dai informed that Da Nang, with a large workforce, mainly migrant workers, is facing difficulties in living conditions in boarding houses. To solve this problem, since 2010, the City Labor Federation has implemented the model of Self-managed Workers' Groups in boarding houses.
After more than 15 years, the model has become one of the typical models in caring for and managing workers outside businesses. Currently, the city has 74 self-managed worker groups with more than 11,000 workers, helping to maintain security and order, and improve the material and spiritual lives of workers.
Mr. Dai also said that in the past time, the Steering Committees of the Self-managed Workers' Group have persistently stuck to the area, listened to the thoughts and aspirations of workers, closely coordinated with the government, police and mass organizations to propagate and mobilize workers to comply with the law and regulations of the boarding house area. The steering committees have promptly detected, reflected and participated in solving arising problems.
