On August 15, Ben Tre Safety Net Processing Grassroots Trade Union held the 1st Delegate Congress, term 2026-2030. The Congress assessed the results of operations since its establishment, and at the same time proposed directions for the new term.
According to the report, the grassroots trade union currently has 298 union members out of a total of 303 officials and employees. The Executive Committee of the previous term had 9 comrades, and at the same time established the Women's Affairs Committee and 12 affiliated Trade Union groups.
Since its establishment, the Trade Union has focused on performing the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; coordinating to supervise the implementation of policies and propose many beneficial contents in collective labor agreements.
A highlight is the regular implementation of care work. The Trade Union visited 87 turns of union members and relatives with a total amount of nearly 19 million VND; supported 11 union members in difficult circumstances during Tet and rewarded 139 children of union members with good academic achievements, with a total amount of 49,700,000 VND.
Besides the achieved results, the report frankly pointed out that the research and application of Trade Union documents is not deep; not creating many outstanding movements associated with production and business; the sports movement has not developed strongly.
In the 2026-2030 term, the Trade Union sets a goal to innovate the content and methods of operation; striving for 100% of employees to be admitted to the Trade Union, 100% of employees to fully enjoy regimes and policies, and grassroots trade unions to successfully complete their tasks or higher.
The prominent direction is to link Trade Union activities with production and business tasks; launch the movement "Good labor, creative labor", care for union members in difficult circumstances, improve the quality of officials and build a strong Trade Union organization.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation acknowledged the initial results, especially the work of representing, caring for, protecting the rights and disseminating laws to union members and workers.
Mr. Thang proposed that the Executive Committee of the I term continue to innovate operations, taking the effectiveness of caring for union members as the focus; link the emulation movement with productivity, quality, production efficiency and closely coordinate with the Board of Directors.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of Ben Tre Safety Net Processing Grassroots Trade Union, term I, 2026-2030, consisting of 7 comrades. Ms. Luong Nguyen Thuy Linh holds the position of Chairwoman; Mr. Nguyen Thai Huan holds the position of Vice Chairman, and concurrently holds the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee.
The Congress unanimously agreed on the direction for the 2026-2030 term, concretizing the resolution into a suitable program and tasks; building harmonious and stable labor relations, contributing to ensuring jobs, income and lives of union members and workers.
