From the major goals and tasks of the term
The 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress identified the general objectives for the 2026-2031 term as: Focusing on developing union members, perfecting the organizational model, improving operational efficiency; effectively performing the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers; promoting the implementation of democracy at the workplace; propagating and mobilizing workers to innovate and create, pioneer in applying science and technology, building new production forces, improving labor productivity, contributing to building a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy country.
Notably, the Congress decided to deploy a new emulation movement: "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" on the foundation of the previous "Good Labor, Creative Labor" emulation movement and focus on implementing two breakthroughs for the 2026-2031 term: First, improving the quality of the contingent of Trade Union officials, especially full-time Trade Union officials and grassroots Trade Union presidents. Second, strongly applying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in Trade Union activities and promoting production and business. At the regular meeting, summarizing the internal organizational work, serving the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that the propaganda work about the congress was deployed diversely, richly, innovatively, highlighting the position, role, creativity, and flexibility of the Trade Union organization in the context of operating under a new model; creating a deep impression on officials, union members nationwide and delegates attending the Congress. The preparation and organization of the Congress were recognized and highly appreciated by Party and State leaders, departments, ministries, and branches at the central and local levels, creating a heroic atmosphere, ready to integrate into the new era of the country.
This is an encouragement, and also a reminder of the role of the media, especially Lao Dong Newspaper, in propagating the goals and tasks of the Trade Union organization immediately after the congress.

From the important contents set out by the Congress, Lao Dong Newspaper quickly deployed many tasks. One of the requirements from the Party Committee and Editorial Board of Lao Dong Newspaper for the team of officials and reporters who are employees must become the central subject in journalistic products.
This is immediately shown in new columns closely linked to the actual needs of workers such as "Workers ask - Experts answer", "Voice of union members" on Lao Dong Daily, Lao Dong Weekend and Lao Dong e-newspaper...
On Lao Dong Newspaper, the voices of union members and workers are expressed more clearly through specific stories about jobs, income, housing, social insurance, safety, occupational health, welfare, vocational training and adaptability to changes in technology.
Along with the positive results, Lao Dong Newspaper continues to truthfully reflect on places where trade union activities are not substantive, dialogue is still formalistic, collective labor agreements have not brought higher benefits or workers have not been supported in time.
Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress launched a new emulation movement "Good labor, High productivity, Good income", and at the same time identified the Trade Union Program accompanying the Government to improve labor productivity, implementing the goal of double-digit growth.
Lao Dong Newspaper considers this a major source of content in the coming time. The special feature is that the communication work about the emulation movement is not heavily focused on slogans or only introducing general achievements. The content of the products in Lao Dong Newspaper clarifies how many working hours have been reduced, how much costs have been saved, how labor conditions have been improved and how workers benefit from increased productivity. Especially the spread of good models and advanced examples.
The highlight is the Vinh Quang Vietnam 2026 Program - a program directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, organized by Lao Dong Newspaper, with the coordination of many central agencies. With the theme "Creation and Contribution", the program was held on July 28 in Hanoi, honoring 13 typical and outstanding collectives and individuals in many fields. These are inspiring examples, vivid proofs of bravery, will to overcome difficulties, dare to think, dare to do and aspiration to serve the country; and at the same time create more motivation for the movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" to be widely deployed at all levels of Trade Unions.
Speaking at the program, Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc said: "I acknowledge, highly appreciate and commend the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Lao Dong Newspaper, and agencies that coordinated to organize the program well over the past 22 years; affirming that labor is joy, life's source, happiness, so in any industry, field, role, it is still the root of creativity, development and social progress; each achievement of the country has the mark of people, of the collective and of days of serious and dedicated work.
One of the two breakthroughs of the term is the strong application of science and technology, digital transformation in Trade Union activities and promotion of production and business. The Resolution also specifically identifies the Project "Digital transformation in Trade Union activities".
This poses an requirement for Lao Dong Newspaper not only to propagate about digital transformation but also to continue to take the lead in the transformation process itself. Information needs to be expressed in many formats suitable for workers' reception habits such as short videos, graphics, podcasts, legal Q&A, online consulting and data journalism products. A complex policy on salaries, insurance or labor relations must be explained in a simple, visual language, easy to share on the phone.
The Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress has oriented a strong renovation term, taking union members and workers as the center, taking science, technology and digital transformation as the driving force. Lao Dong Newspaper continues to closely follow these contents to convey them into close and vivid stories, and at the same time apply technology to make the content reach union members and workers more widely, contributing to bringing the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress into life.
