The Congress was attended by Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province, and 150 official delegates representing more than 41,000 union members and workers in the whole province.
At the Solemn Session, the Congress listened to the Political Report of the Executive Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor for the 2023-2028 term, comprehensively evaluating the results of the workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in the 2023 - 2025 period; at the same time, determining the direction, goals and tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term with the motto of action "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development".
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested that Lao Cai Provincial Trade Unions at all levels always put the task of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers first.
Strengthen care for union members' interests in the direction of improving welfare and improving living conditions for workers. Strongly innovate the content and forms of propaganda, political and ideological education, promote digital transformation in trade union communication.
Focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions and building a strong and comprehensive union organization. Promote patriotic emulation movements in a practical direction, aiming to improve labor productivity and innovate.
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Giang Thi Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province highly appreciated the efforts, results and achievements that the working class and the Lao Cai Trade Union have achieved in the recent past.
To complete the goals and tasks set by the 1st Provincial Trade Union Congress, the Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee proposed to innovate the content and methods of operation of trade unions at all levels, strongly orienting activities towards the grassroots level, using the grassroots as the main activity area; using union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers as the target of mobilization.
Actively perform well the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; proactively participate, negotiate, sign and supervise the implementation of collective labor agreements, and resolve labor disputes well.
Closely coordinate with Party committees and authorities at all levels to pay attention to the practical benefits of union members, workers, civil servants, laborers and other social policies.
The Congress agreed to approve 3 breakthroughs, focusing on developing union members and grassroots unions in the non-state sector; improving the effectiveness of caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers; promoting digital transformation and applying artificial intelligence in union activities and 8 thematic resolutions have been identified.
At the Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor announced the decision of 33 comrades to join the Executive Committee of the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor, term I, 2025-2030; appointed 9 delegates to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, holds the position of Chairwoman of the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor.
Lao Dong Newspaper congratulated the first Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union Congress on its success in the 2025-2030 term and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem continued to be the President of the Lao Cai Provincial Federation of Labor.
